Family Life: Married to husband, Brett and three amazing children: Tyler (17) varsity wrestler, Ashlynn (7) plays Mites and Brayden (3) who is just starting to learn to skate, but we play "hockey" in the living room every night!
Occupation: Sacred Heart Hospital Physical Therapy, specializing in neurological rehabilitation.
Hockey Coaching Experience: I am a USA Hockey Level 4 Certified Coach and have been coaching for 8+ years. I starting in Eau Claire at the U10 level, where I coached some of the recent graduates of the Varsity ECA Stars. I continued coaching the ECA Junior Stars and other Altoona Youth Hockey teams. I have coached all levels from Mite hockey to U14, both boys and girls.
Why do you love to coach? I love it, I love working with the kids and being a part of their day and a small part of their lives. My favorite part is watching their growth from our first practice to the end of the season. Watching their faces when they finally "catch on" to the game. I have a passion for hockey-it is an amazing sport and I enjoy working with such wonderful kids.
What is your hockey experience?: I started playing hockey with my dad and brother on a pond, decided I wanted to play on a team so I joined my brother's team as a squirt. Played varsity high school hockey for 4 years in Owatonna, MN and New Richmond, WI. Following High School I played at UW-River Falls.
Coaching Philosophy: Having fun is most important. I believe that determination and hard work allow success on and off the rink. I coach with emphasis on teamwork; teamwork can be a game changer as well as an important life skill.
What do you like to do when not coaching, watching or playing hockey? Is there anything else?! I enjoy being with my family and spending time with my kids no matter what we do. I like to hang out with friends. I love to camp, four-wheel, snowmobile, and bonfires
