Carmon Cole

Local athlete Carmon Cole, an HGSA and Helena High Bengal alumni, has been selected out of 1000 girls to play with a United States All Star Team at a Triple Crown Sports softball tournament in New York City July 2009. She will be playing with other girls from around the country in this 18U tournament. Players on the team come from Colorado, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Arizona and Carmon from Montana.
 
Carmon is need of assistance to help with her travel costs.  She must raise $2000.00 for her room, food and transportation. Carmon and her family had a fundraiser on Saturday, March 28th at Eagles Manor. They would like to thank everyone who came to support Carmon's cause. 
 
Carmon has played softball since she was young on teams in the Helena Girls Softball Association and then for the Helena High School Bengal softball team.
 

Carmon also coaches track and field for local athletes in Special Olympics.

Lindsay Cline

Lindsay played for several HGSA league teams including the 2000 Dairy Queen team.

She went onto play for Capital High School Bruins and was on the 2004 State Champions Bruins as a freshman.

In 2007 Cline was signed to play for the lady Argos of the University of Great Falls.

GREAT FALLS, MT (Wednesday, June 13, 2007) — The University of Great Falls women’s softball coach Gary Ehnes has announced the signing of another student-athletes to NAIA letters of intent.

Lindsay Cline will be coming to the from where she had a very distinguished career for the Lady Bruins and led them to a state championship appearance. Like Sarah, Lindsay also plans to major in elementary education and hopes to coach softball someday.

 “Lindsay is a strong player with her best years ahead of her and I think she will adapt to the collegiate level well,” said Ehnes.

Karissa Fenstermacher

Karissa played on HGSA leageue teams.

She went on to play for the Helena High School Bengals and after graduation went on to play for the Pirates of Dawson Community College in Miles City.

Sarah Holnbeck

Sarah Holnbeck played for HGSA for many years on several different teams. Her father Steve has been an HGSA board member and coach for many years. His youngest daughter,  Mariah,  plays league softball for Helena Community Credit Union.

Shanna Jo Schmitz

Shanna Jo Schmitz at the 2006 Frenchtown Fall Classic. Shanna and the ISU Bengals played against other Helena players from UGF and MSU Billings.

Lindsey Trenary

Lindsey Trenary at the 2006 Frenchtown Fall Classic. The MSU-Billings Yellow jackets played against other Helena players from UGF and Idaho State.
 
Trenary was a two-sport standout at Helena Capital.  She lettered three times in basketball and softball.  She helped lead the Bruins to the 2004 Class AA state softball title and a runner up finish in 2005.  Trenary was named first team all-conference and first team all-state as a junior.  As a Senior, Trenary batted .338 for Capital.  In nearly 90 innings pitched she posted a 1.87 ERA and an 8-3 record.  Trenary played ASA for Mountain West Crush, leading the team to the NFPSA Summer Nationals title in 2004 and the ASA State Championship in 2005.

Vanessa Shaw

Vanessa Shaw began playing softball when she was 5 years old in Wyoming. She started playing in the Helena Girls Softball Association in 1997 when she moved to Helena with her family. Vanessa played 12U for Dairy Queen coached by Greg Trenary and Shane Shaw. In 1999 and 2000 the team Played in several Invitational tournaments around Montana.

Vanessa played as a Bruin on the Capital High School team.

Vanessa finished her career at North West Nazarene University. with a 349 batting average, 27 runs batted in, 3 home runs and 15 doubles. In 2012 she returned to HGSA as a volunteer coach of major division team.

Erica McAlmond

University of Great Falls softball coach Gary Ehnes has signed four more student-athletes for his new program, which begins this fall. 


Erica McAlmond McAlmond comes to UGF from Big Bend ,
where she made all-conference both years.

McAlmond, a pitcher, was part of a Class AA state championship team at Helena Capital.
