Jays' season ends with tourney loss, but finish summer winning 9 of last 15 games.

Matt Stoddart got it done on the mound for the Mississauga Tigers on the way to a win in the quarterfinals of the Dusty Diamond Classic.  He allowed one run over seven innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Vinny Piazza ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He pitched four innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

The Tigers went up for good in the first, scoring one run on an RBI single by Kenin C.  After posting two runs in the second, the Tigers again scored two in the sixth. In the second, the Tigers scored on a two-run error, scoring Mark A and Jake L.

The lone run of the game for Ohio Jays crossed the plate in the second inning on an RBI double by Harrison Garber.

Siebert no-hitter leads Ohio Jays past JABC Cyclones 9-1

Chris Siebert was great on Friday, throwing a no-hitter and striking out 11 on the way to the Ohio Jays' 9-1 victory in the opening game of the Dusty Diamonds Classic. It was the first no-hitter in the three-year history of the Jays. 

No JABC Cyclones batter was able to locate Siebert's pitches during the game. Siebert threw a no-hitter, striking out 11 batters and walking five while recording his momentous feat. He got Lee to ground out for the final out of the game. 

Everything was working at the plate for the Ohio Jays in the first. JABC Cyclones had no answer as Ohio Jays scored six runs. Ohio Jays scored in the first on an error, a two-run single by Harrison Garber, , an RBI single by Shannon Conway, and an error. 

Hawk was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in one inning, walked one and struck out none. 

The Jays sealed the walk-off mercy victory in the 6th inning when Shannon Conway scored the team's 9th run on a wild pitch to Arpit Agrawal.

Falcon Baseball didn't stand a chance on Friday, as Ohio Jays captured a blowout 6-0 win in seven innings at Thurman Munson Stadium.

Ohio Jays scored three runs in the first on Ohio Jays scored in the first on an error and a two-run single by Nathan Bailey.  Justin Hartory went a perfect 1-1 at the plate for Ohio Jays. He singled in the fifth inning.

Dan Presby got the win for Ohio Jays. He tossed seven innings of shutout ball. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Hymes was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.

Ohio Jays added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Travis Wood doubled, plating Hartory to start the inning. That was followed up by Bailey's single, scoring Wood.

Premier Athletics 14, Jays INDY 7

Jays INDY lose 14-7 to the Premier Athletics

In a marathon contest lasting three hours and 17 minutes, the Ohio Jays dropped a 14-7 contest to the Premier Athletics on Tuesday.  Justin Hartory got on base three times in the game for Ohio Jays. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Sullivan got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over 3 2/3 innings. Sullivan struck out seven, walked seven and gave up five hits.

The Premier Athletics pounded Ohio Jays pitching, as eight hitters combined for 13 hits, 10 RBIs and 14 runs scored.  Gage Simpkins was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.

The bottom of the first saw Ohio Jays take an early lead, 1-0. Hartory tripled to start things off before Travis Wood doubled, scoring Arpit Agrawal.

The Premier Athletics never trailed after scoring seven runs in the second on a groundout by Lewis, three singles, and a two-run triple by Cooney.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the third, Ohio Jays faced just a 9-3 deficit. An RBI single by Nathan Bailey and a walk by Shannon Conwaytriggered Ohio Jays' comeback. Finally, Sullivan got Mitchell Mettler to strike out to end the threat.

One run in the bottom of the fourth helped Ohio Jays close its deficit to 9-4. A wild pitch set off Ohio Jays rally. Wood struck out to end the Ohio Jays threat.

Two runs in the bottom of the fifth helped Ohio Jays close its deficit to 10-6. and an RBI single by Mettler gave Ohio Jays life. Cloon ended the inning by getting Agrawal to ground out.

The Premier Athletics increased their lead with four runs in the sixth. The inning looked promising, as Sullivan singled, plating Lewis to kick things off.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the seventh, Ohio Jays faced just a 14-7 deficit. A wild pitch sparked Ohio Jays' rally. The Premier Athletics closed the game out when Webb got Hartory to strike out.

Jays INDY defeat Ohio Dawgs 5-2

Justin Hartory went 2-3, helping Ohio Jays to a 5-2 victory over Ohio Dawgs on Saturday at Central Crossing HS.  He singled in the first and third innings.

Arpit Agrawal got the win for Ohio Jays. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered seven hits.  Trevor Allmon took the loss for Ohio Dawgs. He walked three, struck out five, and allowed five runs.

Ohio Jays never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring two runs on an RBI single by Harrison Garber.  Ohio Jays increased its lead with two runs in the third. Nathan Bailey singled, scoring Hartory to start the inning.

One run in the top of the fourth helped Ohio Dawgs close its deficit to 4-1. An RBI single by Tyler Rausch gave Ohio Dawgs life. Adam Troesch flew out to end the Ohio Dawgs threat.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Ohio Dawgs faced just a 4-2 deficit. An RBI single by Jordan Haines sparked Ohio Dawgs' rally. Finally, Agrawal induced an inning-ending fly out from Austin Wolfinger.

Jays INDY falls 9-1 to Ohio Independence 

Ohio Jays scattered five hits on Friday, but weren't able to push enough runs across, and lost 9-1 to Ohio Independence.

Brook Dupont recorded the win for Ohio Independence. He allowed one run over five innings. Dupont struck out two, walked none and gave up five hits.  Barker, Paszke, Menke and Roberts helped lead Ohio Independence. They combined for 10 hits and five RBIs.

Vinny Piazza took the loss for the Jays.. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked one and struck out two.

The first inning saw Ohio Jays score its only run on the day on an RBI single by Travis Wood.  Ohio Independence never trailed after scoring four runs in the first on three doubles.

Game 1:  Mustangs 10, Jays Independent 9

Hot bats not enough, Ohio Jays succumb to Mustangs, 10-9

Ohio Jays lost a battle of the bats on Thursday at Ohio Wesleyan University, falling short in a 10-9 ballgame against Mustangs.

 Harrison Garber racked up two RBIs on two hits for Ohio Jays. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

 #16 got the win in relief for Mustangs, pitching 1 1/3 innings and allowing three runs.  Joe Slechta was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The top of the first saw Ohio Jays take an early lead, 3-0. Garber kicked things off for Ohio Jays with a single. Ohio Jays added more runs when Agrawal scored on an RBI single by Garber and Garber scored on an RBI double by Slechta.

Mustangs scored three runs of its own in the second. Mustangs scored on a walk by Lucas Glover, an error, and an RBI single by Cody Rayburn.

After a quick strike from Ohio Jays, Mustangs responded with three runs in the sixth. Mustangs scored on a two-run error and an RBI single by Garrett Hayes.

Game 2:  Cage Rats 8, Jays 0

Ohio Jays lose 8-0 to Cage Rats

Ohio Jays lost 8-0 to Cage Rats on Thursday at Littick Field, despite a total of four hits.

Damon Gipson recorded the win for Cage Rats. He tossed five innings of shutout ball. Gipson struck out two, walked two and gave up four hits.

Cage Rats was sparked by Wyatt Miller and Zach Donnelly, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.

Dan Presby ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.

Cage Rats increased its lead with seven runs in the second. A single by Logan Meinecke ignited the offense,, plating Miller and Gipson. That was followed up by Jonny Rulli's single, bringing home Javon Yeakle.

Jays INDY musters 6 hits, drops 10-2 contest to The Express in tourney semi-final

Ohio Jays racked up six hits, but it wasn't enough, as Ohio Jays were 10-2 losers on Sunday at the hands of The Express.

Andrew Knicely got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over six innings. Knicely struck out six, walked three and gave up six hits.  William DuncanJacob EllebruchWilliam Tittle and Dominic Hinton helped lead The Express. They combined for seven hits and six RBIs.  Creek Miller was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted five innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed four runs.

The Express stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring two runs on an RBI double by William Duncan and an RBI single by Hinton.

Ohio Jays pushed across one run in both the second inning and the fourth. In the second, Ohio Jays scored on an error, scoring Travis Wood.  One run in the bottom of the fourth helped Ohio Jays close its deficit to 4-2. An RBI single by Shannon Conway fueled Ohio Jays' comeback. Colin Spaulding to end the Ohio Jays threat.

The Express added six more runs in the top of the sixth. Hinton started the inning with a double, scoring Buda Jackson. That was followed up by William Duncan's double, bringing home Hinton.

Jays INDY offense too much for Lake Erie Warhawks in 12-2 rout

Ohio Jays refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Lake Erie Warhawks, recording a 12-2 victory on Friday at Mayfield High School.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed Ohio Jays to put the game away early.

A three-run double by Harrison Garber and an RBI single by Nick Albanese in the first inning and a groundout by Chase Miller during the second inning fueled Ohio Jays' offense early.

 Garber racked up five RBIs on three hits for Ohio Jays.

 Joe Slechta got the win for Ohio Jays. He allowed two runs over four innings. Slechta struck out three, walked two and gave up four hits.

McKinney took the loss for Lake Erie Warhawks. He allowed 11 runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

Ohio Jays tacked on another three runs in the third. The inning looked promising, as Nathan Bailey singled, scoring Travis Wood to kick things off.

Ohio Jays increased its lead with four runs in the fourth. A single by Bailey ignited the offense,, plating Miller. That was followed up by Garber's single, bringing home Nate Livingston and Gage Simpkins.

Jays Indy seize victory thanks to late single, drop the SBA Aces 4-3

Ohio Jays outlasted the SBA Aces on Tuesday after five lead changes, earning a 4-3 win.

Ohio Jays finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. Ohio Jays scored on an RBI single by Colin Spaulding off Bozeman, plating Gage Simpkins.

 Colin went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Ohio Jays.

 Noah Miller racked up 11 strikeouts in the Ohio Jays win. Noah allowed one earned run on three hits and six walks over seven innings.

 Bozeman took the loss for the SBA Aces. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed two runs.

In the bottom of the first, the SBA Aces grabbed the early lead, 2-0. More runs came home for the SBA Aces when Cesta scored on an error.

Ohio Jays didn't give up the lead after the seventh inning. Additional runs came from an RBI single by Vinny Piazza.

Jays INDY falls to the Ohio Yankees, 4-3

Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Arpit Agrawal could carry Ohio Jays past the Ohio Yankees at the Ballpark at Hudson on Tuesday as Ohio Jays suffered a 4-3 defeat.

Ohio Jays was led by Arpit's hitting. Arpit went 1-1 and scored one run. He doubled in the eighth inning.

Arpit looked sharp on the hill. The Ohio Yankees managed just one hit off of Agrawal, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his two innings of work.

Handel got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over two innings. Handel struck out two, walked one and gave up three hits.

Colin Spaulding took the loss for Ohio Jays. He pitched 1 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

The bottom of the first saw the Ohio Yankees take an early lead, 1-0. The Ohio Yankees' offense woke up as Kealos doubled before Zullo singled, scoring Kealos.

The Ohio Yankees quickly matched Ohio Jays' strong inning with a two-run inning of their own in the eighth. The Ohio Yankees scored on a walk by Benner and an RBI single by Wittels.

Jays INDEPENDENT team loses late lead in 9-8 loss to Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs

Outhit the Diamond Dawgs 12-5 but can't hold late lead

It was almost a repeat of last year's wood bat final -- almost.  Down 6-0, the Jays Independent team responded with eight unanswered runs to take a 8-7 lead going into the 6th inning. The Jays' twelve hits weren't enough, however, as it lost 9-8 in six innings, to Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs on Friday at the University of Akron's Lee Jackson Field.  

Shannon Conway did it both his glove and his bat: his bases clearing double was the key hit in the Jay's 6-run 5th inning and his catch of a sharp liner started a double play that ended the Diamond Dawgs threat in the bottom of that same inning.

 Travis Wood went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for Ohio Jays, with singles in the second, third, and fifth innings.  Nate Livingston and Arpit Agrawal plated three RBI's each and Harrison Garber added three hits.

 #8 got the win in relief for Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs. #8 pitched two-thirds of an inning and allowed no runs.  Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs was sparked by Jamie Switalski and Shane Robuck, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.  Colin Spaulding took the loss for Ohio Jays. He lasted one-third of an inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

In the bottom of the third, Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs grabbed the early lead, 4-0. Devon Braddock got things going for Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs with a single. An error then moved Devon from first to third. Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs then tacked on more runs when Baranchak, Merigliano and Yeater scored on a three-run triple by Jamie.

Ohio Jays tied the game in the sixth on a two-run single by Agrawal that scored Noah Miller and Gage Simpkins.  It didn't take long for Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the sixth. Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs scored on a two-run error.

Jays take out Captains' Baseball Academy with help fromTravis Wood, 7-3

Travis Wood collected three hits, sparking Ohio Jays to a 7-3 victory in seven innings over Captains' Baseball Academy on Wednesday at Classic Park.

He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

Vinny Piazza got the win in relief for Ohio Jays. Vinny pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed one run.

#21 was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

Ohio Jays jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Chase Millerkicked things off for Ohio Jays with a single. Harrison Garber singled, platingNate Livingston.

Ohio Jays never trailed after scoring three runs in the fifth on an RBI double byShannon Conway and an RBI single by Arpit Agrawal.

Ohio Jays tacked on another two runs in the sixth. A wild pitch scored Mitchell Mettler for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Travis' double, scoringJustin Hartory.

Jays OPL team starts Battle of 330 with shutout victory over Stow Seawolves 

Bobby Dixon did it with both his arm and his bat Friday afternoon, leading the Jays to a 1-0 victory over the Stow Seawolves.   Dixon, who threw a 77 pitch complete game shutout, also knocked in the only run of the game in the top of the 4th with an RBI single to bring in Nate Bailey.  

 

Jays OPL goes 2-1 in 330 tourney; one run wins against Seawolves and Warhawks

The Jays OPL team, winners of a 8-7 game Saturday afternoon against the Lake Erie Warhawks, will play the Hurricanes again Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm in the Silver round of the championship bracket.  

If the Jays defeat the Hurricanes Sunday, they will advance in the Silver round to play the winner of the Northern Ohio Hurricanes/Captains Baseball Acadamy game at 4:45 pm Sunday.  Both Sunday games will be played on the Stow HS Varsity Field.

In earlier games in the Battle of the 330, the Jays beat the Stow Seawolves 1-0 Friday and lost to Big Fly Baseball 10-4.  Congratulations to the Jays OPL squad for going 2-1 in pool play!

Rematch with Jaxx:  improved play, same outcome

A tight game was decided in the sixth inning as Ohio Jays fell to Jaxx Baseball Club 2-1 in seven innings on Thursday at Bob Cene Park in Youngstown.

Casey Scalf recorded the win for Jaxx Baseball Club. He allowed one run over seven innings. He struck out 10, walked three and surrendered three hits.

Colin Spaulding was charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.

After a scoreless stalemate, Jaxx Baseball Club finally got on the board with one run in the fifth. Jaxx Baseball Club scored on an RBI triple by Mason Egleston.

The lone run of the game for Ohio Jays crossed the plate in the sixth inning when Harrison Garber scored on an RBI single by Nathan Bailey.

Jays Succumb to "Ageless" Yankees in 12 innings

It was a game for -- and about -- the ages.  The Ohio Yankees, playing their own version of "turn back the clock" day, beat the Jays Sunday,   A twelfth-inning the Ohio Yankees single spelled defeat for Ohio Jays, falling 4-3 in walk-off fashion at Ashland University on Sunday.  With the score tied at three in the twelfth inning, Handel came to the plate and singled, bringing home Zimmerman.

Nate Livingston paced Ohio Jays at the plate. Nate went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the fifth inning.

Dan Presby worked out of three tricky spots for Ohio Jays. He pitched six innings and allowed one earned run on four hits. Dan faced his most difficult moment in the tenth inning.  Sacher recorded the win for the Ohio Yankees. He pitched one shutout inning. Sacher struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.  Despite a tremendous relief outing, Presby ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss.

The Ohio Yankees tallied one run in each of the third, fifth and twelfth.

Game 1:  Jays 6, Ohio Stealers 0

Ohio Stealers falls 6-0 at the hands of Ohio Jays

Ohio Stealers didn't put up much of a fight on Saturday, as Ohio Jays cruised to a blowout 6-0 win in seven innings at Wooster High School.

Ohio Jays scored three runs in the fifth on Ohio Jays scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Mitchell Mettler and a sacrifice fly by Justin Hartory.

 Noah Miller worked out of three tough spots for Ohio Jays. He pitched six innings and allowed no earned runs on three hits. 

 

Game 2:  Jays 5, Columbus Cougars 1

Ohio Jays defeats Columbus Cougars 5-1

Justin Hartory went 2-3, helping Ohio Jays to a 5-1 victory over Columbus Cougars on Saturday at Ashland University.

He singled in the second and sixth innings.

Vinny Piazza was a workhorse on the hill while bagging the win for Ohio Jays. Vinny pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out four.

Ohio Jays falls 12-6 to Jaxx Baseball Club despite Nate Livingston's effort

Ohio Jays collected five hits, but Ohio Jays fell 12-6 to Jaxx Baseball Club at Ashland University on Friday.

It was a good day at the plate for Ohio Jays' Nate Livingston. Nate went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Solomon Carter recorded the win for Jaxx Baseball Club. He allowed three runs over six innings. Solomon struck out five, walked five and gave up four hits.

Jaxx Baseball Club's Michael RosenRyan Lally and Kyle Pennington combined for five hits and seven RBIs.

Joe Slechta took the loss for the Jays. He allowed 6 earned runs in five innings, walked four and struck out one.

The lead stayed with Jaxx Baseball Club after the first, when it scored five runs on a three-run double by Michael Rosen and two singles.

Jaxx Baseball Club increased its lead with four runs in the fourth. Ryan started the inning with a single, plating Rory Finegan and Solomon.

Two runs in the bottom of the fourth helped Ohio Jays close its deficit to 10-2. A solo home run by Nate and a passed ball sparked Ohio Jays' rally. Finally, Solomon got Colin Spaulding to strike out to end the threat.

Ohio Thunder defeats Jays despite Miller's strong effort, 5-3

Creek Miller held up his end of the bargain, but couldn't will the Ohio Jays past Ohio Thunder as the Jays Independent team lost 5-3 in seven innings at the University of Akron on Wednesday.

Creek shut down Ohio Thunder while he was on the bump. Ohio Thunder managed just one hit off of Miller, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Cory Hileman recorded the win for Ohio Thunder. He tossed 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball. Cory struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Dan Presby was charged with the loss. He walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The bottom of the first saw Ohio Thunder take an early lead, 3-0. A three-run home run by Parker Henderson, scoring Josiah Brown and Jake Bradley started the inning off.

Ohio Thunder never trailed after scoring two runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Storm Mohn.

Jays top Buzzsaws in back-and-forth affair, 6-5

Ohio Jays and Buzzsaws volleyed the lead six times on Thursday, but Ohio Jays came out on top for a 6-5 win on Thursday at Hudson.

Ohio Jays finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. A wild pitch scored Roy Jennings to give Ohio Jays the lead for good.

Gage Simpkins got the win in relief for Ohio Jays. Gage pitched three innings and allowed four runs.

In the bottom of the third, Ohio Jays grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Gage doubled to ignite Ohio Jays' offense. A groundout by Brett Kemper then moved Gage from second to third.

Ohio Jays answered Buzzsaws' top of the inning with three runs of its own in the fourth. Ohio Jays scored on a two-run double by Colin Spaulding and a groundout by Ian Black.

Jays make the most of 4 hits in 3-1 victory over the Aces

Ohio Jays and the Aces both had scoring chances on Saturday, but it was Ohio Jays that was able to capitalize on them as it pulled out a 3-1 win at Medina Reagan Park.

The Aces out-hit Ohio Jays five to four, but the Aces stranded eight runners on base.  Brett Kemper got the win for Ohio Jays. He tossed two innings of shutout ball. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered two hits.  Roy Jennings got the save, pitching a scoreless 7th.

The game's early lead went to the Jays thanks to a first inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on a bases loaded walk by Briggs.  The Jays added two more runs in the top of the second. Josh Tallrico kicked things off with a single, scoring Justin George.

The Aces managed to score one run in the fourth inning on a wild pitch.

Jays cruise past Springfield Scorpions, 12-3

Springfield Scorpions didn't have a chance on Saturday, as Ohio Jays won in blowout fashion, 12-3 in seven innings at Streetsboro.

Ohio Jays scored five runs in the second on an RBI double by Nate Bailey, an RBI single by Gage Simpkins, a wild pitch, a passed ball, and a groundout by Justin George.

Brett Kemper got a hit in each of his one at bats.

Ohio Jays' Nate, Ian Swan, Josh and Brett combined for eight hits and five RBIs.

Two runs in the top of the fourth helped Springfield Scorpions close its deficit to 5-3. A two-run single by Tyler fueled Springfield Scorpions' comeback. But, Ian Black got Austin to strike out to end the inning.

Ohio Jays piled on two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. A ground out scored Josh to get Ohio Jays on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Nate's single, scoring Colin Spaulding.

Ohio Jays built upon its lead with four runs in the sixth. A single by Roy Jennings ignited the offense,, bringing home Brett. That was followed up by Josh's single, plating Justin and Roy.

Jays use big first inning to beat RBSA, 20-0

Ohio Jays shut the door early on RBSA, capturing a 20-0 victory on Sunday at Bath Baseball Park.

With 13 runs in the first inning, the Jays left no doubt about the eventual outcome.  The first 13 Jays to come to the plate all scored.

An RBI single by Ian Black, an RBI single by Justin, a two-run single by Andrei Christoff, an error, an error, an RBI single by Nate Bailey, an error, a hit by pitch, an error, an RBI single by Ian Black, a groundout by Justin, and a groundout by Andrei in the first inning and an error, an RBI single by Harrison Garber, and an error during the second inning supplied the early offense for Ohio Jays.

 Josh Tallrico racked up two RBIs on two hits for Ohio Jays.

Piazza strikes out 12 to lead Jays in blowout win, 13-4

Ohio Jays blew out Stark County Terriers 13-4 on Saturday at Streetsboro HS after pouring on nine runs in the fourth inning.

 Gage Simpkins racked up two RBIs on one hit for Ohio Jays. He singled in the fourth inning.

 Vinny Piazza got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Vinny struck out 12, walked four and gave up 10 hits.

Ohio Jays scored two runs in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with two more in the seventh. In the fifth, Ohio Jays scored on an error, plating Vinny.

Saturday 9/7, Game 1:    

Jays fall 9-2 to Stark County Terriers

Harrison Garber went 2-3 at the plate, but Ohio Jays fell 9-2 to Stark County Terriers at Streetsboro HS on Saturday.

Ian Swan handled Stark County Terriers' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Ian Swan allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks over five innings.

Brock Begue got the win for Stark County Terriers. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Brock, Jon Conkle and TJ Donlwy helped lead Stark County Terriers. They combined for five hits and six RBIs.

Three runs gave Stark County Terriers a leg up after neither team scored for most of the game. Stark County Terriers opening the scoring in the fifth inning with a groundout by Jacob Begue and a wild pitch.

After the Jays scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, the Terriers responded in the sixth, scoring four runs of their own

Jays hitting overwhelms Scorpions

Ohio Jays refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Springfield Scorpions, recording a 17-0 victory on Wednesday.

Thirteen runs in the first three innings allowed Ohio Jays to put the game away early.

An error, an RBI double by Ian Swan, an RBI single by Ian Black, a two-run double by Gage Simpkins, an RBI triple by Brett Kemper, and a sacrifice fly by Derick Burddett during the first inning and an error, a two-run single by Ian Swan, and a two-run single by Brett in the second inning supplied the early offense for Ohio Jays.

 

Kemper racked up four RBIs on four hits for Ohio Jays.  Ian Swan was also perfect at the plate, going 4-4 with three RBIs.

 

Swan got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He pitched one shutout inning. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.  Derick Burddett pitched a perfect inning in relief, striking out all three batters he faced.

Ohio Jays pounded Springfield Scorpions pitching, as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.  Every Jays batter had at least one hit.

Mitchell Mettler helps Ohio Jays North 16U down the Western PA Wolfpack 5-2

Mitchell Mettler went 2-3, sparking Ohio Jays North 16U to a 5-2 victory in seven innings over the Western PA Wolfpack on Sunday at Akron U.

He singled in the third and fifth innings.

 

Chris Siebert's seven strikeouts helped Ohio Jays North 16U to the victory. Chris allowed no earned runs on three hits and four walks over five innings.

 

Ohio Jays North 16U closer Gage Simpkins put away the final six outs to record the save.

Ohio Jays North 16U jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

The game's last lead went to Ohio Jays North 16U thanks to a third inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on an RBI single by Travis Wood.

Ohio Jays North 16U increased its lead with two runs in the fourth. Chase Galinsky's single got things going, bringing home Ricky Delambo.

After pushing across one run in the top of the sixth, the Western PA Wolfpack faced just a 4-2 deficit. An error gave the Western PA Wolfpack life. Finally, Gage got J Frazier to strike out to end the threat.

Jays offense too much for Hit & Run in 10-1 rout

Ohio Jays North 16U jumped out to an early lead on Hit & Run Raiders and captured a 10-1 victory on Saturday at Boardman HS.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed Ohio Jays North 16U to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Mitchell Mettler, an RBI single by Travis Wood, a sacrifice fly by Chase Galinsky, and an RBI double by Nathan Bailey during the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Travis in the second inning fueled Ohio Jays North 16U's offense early.

 

Mitchell did his best to jumpstart the offense for Ohio Jays North 16U, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI.

 

 

The Raiders couldn't get anything going as long as Gage Simpkins was on the mound. Hit & Run managed just three hits off of Simpkins, who allowed just one run, walked three and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Jays drop 7-3 game to Diamond Boys 

Ian Black did all he could to give Ohio Jays South 16U a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Diamond Boys, as the Jays South team lost 7-3 in seven innings at Firestone High School on Saturday.

The Jays were led by Ian's hitting. Ian went 2-3. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

#19 got the win for Diamond Boys. He allowed two runs over five innings. #19 struck out eight, walked one and gave up four hits.

Diamond Boys stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring five runs on two errors and two singles.

Two runs in the bottom of the second helped South close its deficit to 5-2. An RBI single by Josh Tallarico and a passed ball sparked the Jay's rally. Brendon Rhodes grounded out to end the threat.

Diamond Boys pushed across one run in both the fourth inning and the sixth. In the fourth, Diamond Boys scored on a groundout by #10, plating #24.

One run in the bottom of the sixth helped the Jays close its deficit to 7-3. An error gave the Jays life. Finally, #11 induced an inning-ending fly out from Josh.

South drops 7-4 game to the Titans despite efforts of Tim Reiman

Tim Reiman did all he could to give the Ohio Jays South a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past the Titans, as the Jays lost 7-4 at Stow HS on Friday.

Tim racked up two RBIs on one hit for Ohio Jays South 16U. He singled in the third inning.

Justin got the win for the Titans. He allowed two runs over four innings. Justin struck out one, walked none and gave up four hits.

Titans closer #12 put away the final nine outs to record the save.

The bottom of the first saw the Titans take an early lead with three unearned runs in the first. 

The Jays responded with single runs in the third inning and the fourth. In the third, the Jays scored on an RBI single by Reiman, plating Conner Semple.

It didn't take long for the Titans to respond as they scored one run of their own in the fourth. The Titans scored on an RBI single by Torre.  The Titans added three runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Jared and a fielder's choice.

North prevails over Diamond Dawgs in extras, 4-2

The Ohio Jays North used an outstanding team effort to outlast the Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs at Jackson High School 4-2 on Friday in 10 innings.

Seth Thomas was dominating for the Jays, allowing no earned runs in a 10 inning complete game.  He struck out two, walked none and scattered eight hits.

The Jays tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the 7th, on a leadoff single by Travis Wood, then Diamond Dawg errors on balls hit by Harrison Garber and Ricky Delambo to load the bases.  Chase Galinsky then hit into a double play, scoring Wood with the tying run.

Wood sparked the Jays again in the tenth inning, with a leadoff single to left, followed by a two-strike hit by Garber to right, taking Wood to third.  Wood scored on Delambo's hard-hit ball to short, beating the shortstop's throw to the plate.  The Jays added another run in the inning on a Diamond Dawgs error.

With the Jays down 2-0 in the fourth inning Harrison Garber came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Wood with the Jays first run.

Garber and Wood were each 2-3 on the day, and combined to score all four of the Jays runs.

Jays NORTH drops 9-2 game to Pelicans

Ohio Jays North 16U lost 9-2 to Pelicans at Hudson HS on Monday at The Ballpark at Hudson.

Harrison Garber was on base each time at the plate for the Jays, with a triple, a walk and a hit by pitch. 

#25 recorded the win for Pelicans. He allowed one run over two innings. #25 struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.

Jays SOUTH loses 7-2 to RBI Redwings

Randy Smith did what he could to give Ohio Jays South 16U a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Pittsburgh, as Ohio Jays South 16U lost 7-2 in seven innings at Solon on Saturday.  Randy went 1-2 and scored one run. He singled in the sixth inning.

Sharp got the win for Pittsburgh. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Sharp struck out five, walked three and gave up three hits.

The Redwings led from the start, scoring two runs in the first on a two-run single by Godwin, and two more in the second to take the early lead.

Two runs in the bottom of the sixth helped Ohio Jays South 16U close its deficit to 5-2. and an error gave Ohio Jays South 16U life. Sharp ended the inning by getting Bobby Dixon to ground out.

PBA Sabrecats beats Ohio Jays North 16U 13-9 thanks to big comeback

Ohio Jays North 16U led by five runs in the fourth inning, but PBA Sabrecats put together a furious comeback to steal the victory, 13-9, on Saturday at North Canton HS.

#5 got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He tossed two innings of shutout ball. #5 struck out four, walked two and gave up no hits.

The top of the first saw Ohio Jays North 16U take an early lead, 2-0. Ohio Jays North 16U got things going when Travis Wood singled.

After a quick strike from Ohio Jays North 16U, PBA Sabrecats responded with two runs in the first. PBA Sabrecats scored on a two-run home run by #21.

PBA Sabrecats never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring nine runs on a two-run double by #15, two errors, a sacrifice fly by #21, and two singles.

Dirtbags outdone by Danny Fetsko and Ohio Jays South 16U, 6-3

Danny Fetsko went 2-2, sparking Ohio Jays South to a 6-3 victory in seven innings over Dirtbags Leigon Baseball on Thursday.

He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third inning.

Jays South relied on Bobby Dixon en route to the complete game win. Bobby pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out four.

Jays went up for good in the second, scoring two runs on two singles.  The Jays tacked on another four runs in the third. A error scored Liam Sullivan for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Danny's single, plating Austin Gee.

One Dirtbags run crossed the plate in the top half of the fifth, making the score 6-1. A hit by pitch gave the Dirtbags life. The Dirtbags threat came to an end when Bobby finally got Adams for the final out.

Two unearned runs in the top of the seventh helped Dirtbags close its deficit to 6-3.  Then got Mazzeo to fly out to end the game.

Wood's big day not enough, as Ohio Jays North 16U loses 8-2 to the North Canton Vikings

Travis Wood went 2-3 at the plate, but Ohio Jays North 16U fell 8-2 to the North Canton Vikings at North Canton HS on Friday.

Travis had two extra-base hits for Ohio Jays North 16U. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Ben Kiesling got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Ben struck out two, walked one and gave up six hits.

Klye BraucherNick Hillyer, Ben and Dominic Lupe helped lead the North Canton Vikings. They combined for eight hits and two RBIs.

The top of the first saw Ohio Jays North 16U take an early lead, 1-0. A solo home run by Travis started the inning off.

The North Canton Vikings stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fourth, scoring two runs on two singles.

The North Canton Vikings built upon their lead with three runs in the fifth. Jarid Seemann singled, plating Nick to start the inning.

Jays drop 4-2 game to Columbus Cobras despite efforts of Bailey and Galinsky

Chase Galinsky and Nate Bailey did what they could to give Ohio Jays North 16U a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past the Columbus Cobras, as Jays North team lost 4-2 in the opening game of the Boys of Summer Freedom Classic Tourney on Thursday.

Galinsky reached base three times, walking twice and singleing once.  Bailey had the other two hits for the Jays, a single and a double.

Gilliland recorded the win for Columbus Cobras. He allowed two runs over five innings. Gilliland struck out three, walked three and gave up two hits.  Cobras closer Wilson put away the final six outs to record the save.

The top of the second saw Ohio Jays North 16U take an early lead, 1-0. Bailey kicked things off for Ohio Jays North 16U with a double, advanced to third on a Gage Simpkins sacrifice fly, then scored on a ground out by Andrei Christoff.

Columbus Cobras answered Ohio Jays North 16U's top inning with two runs of its own in the second. The Cobras scored what would prove to be the game's winning runs in the 4th on a Jays throwing error.

Mettler's double leads Jays North over Diamond Boys

Jays NORTH 7, Diamond Boys 3

Ricky Delambo went 2-2, and Mitch Mettler added a three-run double, helping Ohio Jays North 16U to a 7-3 victory over Diamond Boys on Wednesday at Stow HS.  Delambo had two hits in the fifth inning, a double and then a single.

 

Seth Thomas recorded a complete game victory. Thomas gave up just two hits, allowed three earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his six innings of work.

 

The bottom of the first saw Diamond Boys take an early lead, 3-0. Diamond Boys' rally started when Sam LaFontaine singled. Nick Abraksia homered, bringing home Sam and Joseph Mazzurco.

Jays North scored all seven runs in the fifth inning, bringing 12 men to the plate.  The key hit was a base-clearning double by Mettler.

A tight game was decided in the eighth inning as Ohio Jays South 16U fell to Stark Knights 9-6 in eight innings on Tuesday at Hudson.

Piero recorded the win for Stark Knights. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. Piero struck out three, walked one and gave up one hit.

Stark Knights' DiMarzioSicard and Davis combined for five hits and seven RBIs.

Neither team scored until the fourth when Stark Knights got on the board. Stark Knights scored on a two-run double by Sicard.

After posting one run in the fourth, Ohio Jays South 16U again scored one in the eighth. In the fourth, Ohio Jays South 16U scored on a fielder's choice.

Ohio Jays South 16U pushed across two runs in both the fifth inning and the seventh. In the fifth, Ohio Jays South 16U scored on an RBI single by Brendon Rhodes, bringing home Ian Black.

Ohio Jays South 16U answered Stark Knights' top inning with two runs of its own in the seventh. Ohio Jays South 16U scored on a two-run single by Austin Gee.

The game's last lead went to Stark Knights thanks to a eighth inning rally that saw four runs cross the plate on two singles.

Ricky Delambo struck out seven batters to lift Ohio Jays North 16U to an 8-2 win over Northern Ohio Canes at Berea HS.

The offense exploded for the Ohio Jays North 16U in the ninth. In the inning Ohio Jays North 16U scored six runs.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

Ohio Jays North 16U pulled out the win thanks to a strong ninth inning. A walk byHarrison Garber scored Roy Jennings Jr and gave Ohio Jays North 16U the lead for good.

Ohio Jays South 16U wound up on the wrong side of a 7-0 score on Sunday at Willoughby, tasting defeat at the hands of Clippers.

The Jays could manage only a by Danny Fetsko and walks by Connor Semple and Austin Gee.

#13 got the win for the Clippers. He tossed 5 innings of shutout ball, striking out four.  The Clippers were sparked by #16 and #11, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.

Clippers matched its three-run third inning with three more in the fifth. In the third, Clippers scored on an RBI single by #16, scoring #7.  #9 kicked things off with a single, bringing home #16. That was followed up with a steal of home by #11.

Ohio Jays South 16U refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Mid Ohio Stixx, recording a 9-2 victory on Sunday at Willoughby.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed Ohio Jays South 16U to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Danny Fetsko, an RBI double by Bobby Dixon, and an error during the first inning and a two-run double by Tim Reiman, an RBI single by Ian Black, and a fielder's choice in the second inning fueled Ohio Jays South 16U's offense early.

 Reiman racked up four RBIs on two hits for Ohio Jays South 16U.

 Joe Martin shut down Mid Ohio Stixx while he was on the rubber. Mid Ohio Stixx managed just two hits off of the Jays South pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out one during his five innings of work.

Bobby Dixon did all he could to give Ohio Jays South 16U a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Andy's niners, as Ohio Jays South 16U lost 4-3 in five innings at Willoughby on Sunday.

Bobby racked up two RBIs on two hits for Ohio Jays South 16U. He singled in the first and third innings.

#19 got the win for Andy's niners. He allowed three runs over five innings. #19 struck out four, walked five and gave up three hits.

The top of the first saw Ohio Jays South 16U take an early lead, 1-0. Ohio Jays South 16U's rally started when Brendon Rhodes singled. Bobby singled, scoring Ian Black.

Andy's niners answered Ohio Jays South 16U's top inning with two runs of its own in the first. Andy's niners scored on a two-run single by #33.

Andy's niners scored one run in the second inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fifth. In the second, Andy's niners scored on an RBI single by #21, plating #2.

Ohio Jays South 16U tied the game in the third on a two-run single by Bobby that scored Ian and Brendon.

Jays North loses 9-4 to Detroit Metro Stars

The Jays North team came back late but it wasn't enough to get past Detroit Metro Stars, as the Jays lost 9-4 in seven innings at the Black Swamp Tournament on Friday.

Phil Gacki recorded the win for Detroit Metro Stars. He allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings. Gacki struck out five, walked three and gave up five hits.  Stars closer White put away the final four outs to record the save.

Detroit never trailed after scoring six runs in the first on two doubles, a sacrifice fly by White, and an RBI single by Jarrett Mathison.

After pushing across four runs in the top of the sixth, Ohio Jays North 16U faced just a 7-4 deficit. A two-run error, an RBI single by Chris Siebert, and an error fueled Ohio Jays North 16U's comeback. White ended the inning by getting Colin Spaulding on a called third strike.

Jays pitchers stuck out three and walked three.  At the plate, Jays batters struck out nine times.  The Jays had three errors in the game.

Detroit Metro Stars added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. James started the inning with a triple, scoring Jarrett.

Jays stop Diamonds late push, hold on 8-7

The Grand Rapids Diamonds wasn't able to come back from the big hole it dug itself into against Ohio Jays North, and Diamonds lost 8-7 to Jays after falling behind by four runs in the sixth inning.

Diamonds scored on a fielder's choice in the sixth inning and a sacrifice fly by Thompson in the seventh inning. Still, Diamonds couldn't catch Ohio Jays North.

 Gage Simpkins went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Ohio Jays North 16U. He singled in the third and fifth innings.  Roy Jennings was 2-4 at the dish, with three RBI's and an outstanding defensive stop in the third;  Roy dove to his right to stop a hard hit-grounder, then was still able to make the throw to Harrison Garber at 1st to record the out.

 Chris Siebert pitched 5 1/3 innings he to record record the victory. Chris struck out three, walked two and gave up four hits.

The bottom of the second saw Diamonds take an early lead, 4-0. Garbiriro doubled to ignite the Diamonds' offense. A single by Haney then moved Garbiriro from second to third. The scoreboard lit up again for Diamonds when Haney and Vandy scored on a two-run single by Opple and Opple scored on an error.

Ohio Jays North 16U got three-run rallies in the third inning and the fifth. In the third, the Jays scored on a two-run single by Jennings scoring Ricky Delambo and Gage Simpkins.

The game's last lead went to Ohio Jays North 16U thanks to a fifth inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on a fielder's choice and singles by Jennings and Mitch Mettler.

Ohio Jays North 16U drops 3-0 Swamp Opener to Indiana Dirtbags

Chris Siebert reached base three times, but it wasn't enough to get past Indiana Dirtbags, as Ohio Jays North 16U lost 3-0 in seven innings at Black Swamp Tourney on Thursday.

Matt Bracci got the win for Indiana Dirtbags. He tossed 6 2/3 innings of shutout ball. He struck out four, walked six and surrendered four hits.

The Jays wasted an opportunity to take the early lead.  With the bases loaded in the second, the Jays grounded into an inning-ending 4-2-3 double play.  The Dirtbags took a one run lead in the fourth, scoring the only run it would need on an RBI single by Brian Haas.

Indiana Dirtbags tacked on another two runs in the sixth. A clutch sacrifice fly scored Austin Montgomery to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Brian's single, plating Tanner Roboulet.

The Jays had rallies extinguished in both the fourth and fifth innings with runners tagged out at the plate.  Despite taking the loss, Ricky Delambo pitched well, pitching a complete game and allowing only two earned runs and one walk.

Jays NORTH overcomes 6-0 deficit to win 7-6 in Strongsville 

 With Ohio Jays North 16U trailing by one, Travis Wood came to the plate and doubled, plating Roy Jennings Jr and Mitchell Mettler, completing the Jays comeback from a 6-0 deficit.

Travis racked up three RBIs on one hit for Ohio Jays North 16U.

Mitchell led Ohio Jays North 16U's offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He tripled in the sixth inning.

Chris Siebert got the complete game win for the Jays allowing just three earned runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two.

The North team scored a great come from behind victory in game 2 of its doubleheader with the Up to Bat Titans, scoring two in the 7th to tie and two in the 8th to win 5-4.  In the first game, the Jays comeback attempt fell short, resulting in a 9-8 loss.

SOUTH BEATS STARK KNIGHTS IN 8TH INNING 

It took extra innings once again but the outcome was much improved as Jays SOUTH beat the Stark Knights 7-5 in 8 innings.   Joe Martin had a single and a double and 2 rbi (game winning runs driven in w 2 outs in the top of 8).   Joe also pitched the 7th and 8th for the win.  Tim Reiman started and did well, Billy Friend got 3 outs for the Jays in relief before Martin came in to shut the door.

 

Ohio Jays North 16U uses big second inning to beat Ohio Stealers, 13-6

Ohio Jays North 16U shut the door early on Ohio Stealers, capturing a 13-6 victory on Tuesday at Hudson HS.

With eight runs in the first three innings, Jays North left little doubt about the eventual outcome.

A walk by Chase Galinsky, an error, a walk by Colin Spaulding, a two-run single by Brett Kemper, a groundout by Roy Jennings Jr, and a passed ball in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Jays.

 

Nathan Bailey racked up two RBIs on one hit.  He singled in the second inning.

 

Rickey Delambo recorded the win, allowing two runs over five innings. Rickey struck out four, walked three and gave up four hits.

Ohio Jays North 16U added one run in the third and three more in the bottom of the fifth. A hit into a fielder's choice scored Travis Wood to start the scoring in the inning.

Jays North built upon its lead with two runs in the sixth. A bases loaded walk scored Galinsky for the inning's first run.

Ohio Jays North 16U came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 13-4 ballgame against Sports Zone Baseball Academy on Saturday at Fathers' Day Classic Garfield Hts HS.

While Ohio Jays North 16U led until the fourth inning, Sports Zone Baseball Academy worked its way back and took the lead on a two-run double by Shaffer.

 

Harrison Garber racked up three RBIs on one hit for Ohio Jays North 16U. He homered in the third inning.

 

Sprouk got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over three innings. Sprouk struck out two, walked four and gave up five hits.

Sports Zone Baseball Academy's BrittnerDavis, Shaffer and Miller combined for seven hits and six RBIs.

The top of the first saw Sports Zone Baseball Academy take an early lead, 3-0. A single by Gentry, scoring Brittner started the inning off. More runs came home for Sports Zone Baseball Academy when Gentry scored on an RBI single by Davis and Davis scored on an error.

The lead stayed with Sports Zone Baseball Academy after the fourth, when it scored seven runs on a two-run double by Shaffer, an error, a two-run home run by Miller, and two singles.

Sixth-inning lead change vaults theGarfield Heights Bulldogs past Ohio Jays North 16U, 8-7

Ohio Jays North 16U lost a hotly contested 8-7 game in seven innings on Friday at Fathers' Day Classic Garfield Hts HS after surrending the lead in the sixth inning.

 

Roy Jennings Jr got on base three times in the game for Ohio Jays North 16U. He singled in the fourth inning.

 

 

The Garfield Heights Bulldogs couldn't get anything going as long as Chase Galinsky was pitching. Galinsky held the Garfield Heights Bulldogs hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

 

Ryan Clark got the win in relief for the Garfield Heights Bulldogs. Clark pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed one run.

The top of the first saw Ohio Jays North 16U take an early lead, 2-0. A single byHarrison Garber, plating Jennings Jr and Andrei Christoff started the inning off.

The Garfield Heights Bulldogs survived Ohio Jays North 16U's surge and put up three runs of their own in the first. The Garfield Heights Bulldogs scored on an error and a two-run single by Christian Shorterage.

The Garfield Heights Bulldogs scored what would prove to be the winning run in the sixth, scoring one run on a fielder's choice.

Jays fall 10-0 to MAF Gators 

Ohio Jays North 16U dropped a 10-0 decision to MAF Gators in the opening game of the Summer Series Father's Day Classic at Highland High School on Friday.

Danny Cody recorded the win for MAF Gators. He tossed four innings of shutout ball. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered three hits.

MAF Gators was sparked by Kevin Chonko and Duke Maley, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.

MAF Gators didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the first inning when it scored on a two-run single by Maley.

MAF Gators tacked on another four runs in the second. A hit into a fielder's choice scored Nicholas Jackson for the inning's first run.

Ohio Jays South 16U survives Lake Erie Hooks 4-3 thanks to Randy Smith's late-game heroics

Jays win 2 of 3 games in Battle of the 330

Randy Smith brought home the winning run to give Ohio Jays South 16U the lead in the sixth inning, as Ohio Jays South 16U hung on to beat Lake Erie Hooks 4-3 on Sunday.

Conner Semple reached on an error to get on base in the sixth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Billy Friend.

 Andrei Christoff racked up two RBIs on one hit for Ohio Jays South 16U. He doubled in the third inning.

 Matt Amentini got the win for Jays South, tossing two innings of shutout ball. Amentini struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

Ohio Jays South 16U jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Ohio Jays South 16U attack began with a single from Tim Reiman. Christoff doubled, scoring Ian Black and Reiman. The scoreboard lit up again for Ohio Jays South 16U when Christoff scored on an RBI single by Bobby Dixon.

Loses both Saturday games in walk-off fashion

 

After tying it in the top the inning, the Jays North lost the ballgame in the bottom half of the frame Saturday, as Triple Crown Legends grabbed a 3-2 victory in the first game of the Championship round at the Battle of Border at Bob Cene field in Youngstown.

Kling got the win for the Legends, tossing two-thirds of an inning of shutout ball. He struck out none.

Triple Crown Legends took an early 2-0 lead in the first and had it hold up until the Jays tied it with single runs in the sixth and the seventh.  Legends won it in the bottom of the seventh when a lead-off walk came around to score on a base hit and an error.

Offense aplenty in Ohio Jays South 16U's 10-9 loss to Mid Ohio Stixx

Ohio Jays South 16U fell 10-9 to Mid Ohio Stixx in seven innings on Saturday at Barberton despite racking up 13 hits and nine runs.

 

Tim Reiman had two extra-base hits for Ohio Jays South 16U. He tripled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

 

Sgambellone got the win for Mid Ohio Stixx. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Mid Ohio Stixx was sparked by Collins and Cooper, who teamed up for four hits and four RBIs.

The top of the second saw Ohio Jays South 16U take an early lead, 5-0.Brendon Rhodes started the rally for Ohio Jays South 16U with a single. A stolen base then moved Rhodes from first to second. Danny Fetsko singled, plating Rhodes. More runs came home for Ohio Jays South 16U when Fetsko scored on an RBI single by Liam Sullivan, Amentini scored on a passed ball, and Friend and Sullivan scored on a two-run triple by Reiman.

Mid Ohio Stixx tied the game in the third on a steal of home.

Rickey Delambo makes one run hold up for Ohio Jays North 16U in 1-0 win over Ohio Stealers

Ohio Jays North 16U starter Rickey Delambo doesn't need much run-support when he is on the bump and he showed it on Friday at Youngstown against Ohio Stealers. Seven strong innings by Delambo spurred Ohio Jays North 16U to a 1-0 victory over Ohio Stealers in seven innings.

Ohio Jays North 16U held Ohio Stealers without a run while Delambo was on the rubber. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up seven.

 

Nathan Bailey had a hot bat for Ohio Jays North 16U. Bailey went 2-2 and drove in one. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.

 

Ohio Jays North 16U managed to score one run in the second inning on an RBI double by Bailey.

Jays North can't stop North Canton's seventh inning rally in 4-3 loss

A tight game was decided in the seventh inning as Ohio Jays North 16U fell to the North Canton Vikings 4-3 in seven innings on Saturday at Youngstown's Battle on the Border.

 

Chase Galinsky paced Ohio Jays North 16U at the plate. Galinsky went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

 

#28 got the win for the North Canton Vikings. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out seven, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

The top of the first saw Ohio Jays North 16U take an early lead, 1-0. Ohio Jays North 16U's threat began with a single by Galinsky. Then moved Galinsky from first to second. A few plays later, Galinsky stole home.

It didn't take long for the North Canton Vikings to respond as they scored two runs of their own in the sixth. The North Canton Vikings scored on a sacrifice fly by #37 and an RBI single by #34.

The score remained tied until the seventh, when the Vikings scored the winning run on a fielders' choice and a throwing error.

 Tim Reiman's bases loaded walk gives Ohio Jays South 16U walk-off win over North Coast, 8-7

Tim Reiman's walk-off bases loaded walk off of Corraro boosted Ohio Jays South 16U to an 8-7 win over North Coast in 10 innings on Friday.

Reiman led Ohio Jays South 16U's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the sixth inning.

Bobby Dixon got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over two innings. Dixon struck out five, walked three and gave up one hit.

The top of the first saw North Coast take an early lead, 4-0. The North Coast attack began with a single from Defansesco. An error then moved Defansesco from first to second. North Coast then tacked on more runs when Mitchell and Defansesco scored on a two-run double by Crawford and Teed scored on a groundout by Marques.

North Coast scored one run in each of the fifth, ninth and tenth. In the fifth, North Coast scored on a fielder's choice, scoring Golic.

Ohio Jays South 16U tied the game in the sixth on a passed ball that scoredJosh Tallarico.

It didn't take long for Ohio Jays South 16U to respond as it scored one run of its own in the ninth. Ohio Jays South 16U scored on a walk by Ian Black.

Ohio Jays South 16U scored two runs of its own in the tenth. Ohio Jays South 16U scored on a walk by Joe Martin and a bases loaded walk by Reiman.
