Reserve Winning Streak
Well, it was finally time for some baseball. The reserve team had not played since their double header win 2 1/2 weeks ago. Although it was a long wait, it was worth it. The reserve beat Ralston 8-0 to improve to 3-2 on the year.

The Freshman team picked up 2 big wins last night in Bennington to get back to 500 at 2 - 2.
In Game 1, Matt Valla started his 2nd game of the year and had another great outing picking up a 6 - 4 win. Defense played much better and if not for a few base running issues, the score could have been much worse. It was a much needed win after a tough start to the year. Andrew Lamer came in to get his first save of his High School career.
In Game 2, Jonathan Sheehy started and pitched well in his high school debut. He walked just 2 batters over 4 2/3 innings of work and gave up only 2 runs over his first 3 innings. He ran into a bit of a bind in the 4th & 5th innings but worked thru it. Nick Iossi came in for 1 1/3 innings to get the 9 - 8 win and again Andrew Lamer came in to save the 2nd game of the night.
The big play of the night came in the bottom of the 7th inning in the 2nd game of the night. Bennington had the tying run at 3rd and the winning run at 2nd. With 2 outs and 2 strikes, there was a hit to the gap between right field and center field. Nick Crinklaw came in to make a running catch and preserve the win.
Overall, it was 2 nice and much needed wins.

Noah Oswald was the starting pitcher and Dan Bowers came in relief. They combined to only give up 5 hits for the game. The next game for the Freshman is Monday when they have a Double Header at Benningon.
