Rutgers SAFETY Clinic

For coaches and assistant coaches we require that you are Rutgers SAFETY clinic certified.  If you are not already certified, it's an informative three hour session aimed to protect the kids and to protect yourself.  It is required for nearly all sports so it is a worthwhile exercise.  See below for more details:

Mandatory Background Check with Finger Printing

For the safety of the children, a background check is required of all volunteer coaches. All individuals 18 years or older must be fingerprinted and permit a background check as a prerequiste to becoming a volunteer.

Reservations to be fingerprinted can be made at www.bioapplicant.com/nj. The IdentoG MorphoTrust USA Fingerprint FORM must be completed in advance and a reservation is required to be fingerprinted. The attached forms include the Volunteer Registration Number (VPN).

Fingerprinting is completed at a cost of $24.20 by MorphoTrust USA, a security agency with 17 locations in New Jersey, including one in Paramus.  The cost of the background check must be paid by the volunteer.

Fingerprinting Background checks must be completed at 3 weeks before the season starts. All coaches must take THIS background check. Past background checks, for any other reason (professional license, gun permit, etc.), will not be acceptable. We have no access to any past background checks.

Please make sure you use the ORI # for Youth Service Organization (NJ920610Z). DO NOT USE YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPT.

Background checks are good for 3 years. The background check will be sent to the corresponding Police Department.

Individuals who do not pass the background check will be notified and have an appeal right as set forth by the ordinance.
