Link to sign up for bringing food to the Psych Parties: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F054EAAA928A4F58-psych1 THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING TO FEED THE TEAM! The targeted meets were decided upon by the captains. We are basing our food amounts on what worked in previous years - please let me know if I am suggesting too little or too much so I can adjust the amounts in the future. That being said - double check your assignments for quantity.
Tips for hosting a psych party:
· Have enough disposable plates, napkins and utensils for the team. Remember this is pasta and they load their plates - you want heavy duty plates!
· Post signs for where the boys can leave their shoes and bags. An old comforter/ tarp in the garage works well and the boys can enter the house through there.
· It has been team tradition to serve the swimmers in graduating class order. Seniors, followed by juniors, sophomores, and so on...
· Label the different types of pasta - making it easier for those who may have food sensitivities.
· Have garbage cans easily accessible - making clean-up easier. It is perfectly acceptable to ask the boys to clean up after themselves!
· Be prepared with additional dry pasta in your pantry - just in case you run low....
· Feel free to enlist some help from other parents to serve and set up.
Tips for parents bringing food to psych parties:
• PLEASE REMEMBER WE HAVE NUT ALLERGIES ON THE TEAM. PLEASE BE SENSITIVE TO THIS AND DO NOT BRING ANYTHING THAT IS MADE WITH NUTS.
• If you have a food assignment, please drop it off ready to serve prior to the arrival of the swimmers. We realize this may mean you need to drive back and forth but when the swimmers get there - they are ready to eat.
• Please use disposable containers OR containers that are clearly marked with your name. It is your responsibility to get your containers back if not disposable.
• Caesar salad is easiest if served in a large disposable roasting pan using a basic recipe of romaine lettuce, cheese and caesar dressing (a tried and true recipe is supplied below for those who are interested)
• Drinks should be water, Gatorade, juice or lemonade in individual containers - no need for cups. The ideal size is 12oz or smaller. This leads to less waste (open drinks that do not get finished) and less spillage. Please purchase clear/light colored beverages to avoid spill stains. Thank you!
• All desserts should be bite size finger foods and should not require additional utensils or plates. If you do bring something like a cake - please supply the dessert plates and forks.
