Due to our success, I decided to take on coaching full time and make the Mavericks an offical All Star Company in April 2007. Starting in May 2007, I opened the "Barn" and developed more squads so that more kids could take part in the fun. We had kids from Menifee all the way down to Rancho Banardo. We still practiced in parks, back yards and living rooms for most of the 2007-08 season, but we finally moved into a gym part time in early 2008. The kids who wanted to learn to tumble took tumbling classes in their area's and came to practice once a week. We had a successful season with our Miniz placeing 1st at State and Nationals, Large Youth placing 2nd at State and Nationals, Small Youth placing 1st at Nationals, and Juniors placing 3rd at State and 2nd at Nationals. Our Youth Solo placed 1st at State and Nationals, our Senior Solo placed 1st at State and Nationals. We also brought home 1 Grand Champion and 2 Master Champion awards as well as Most Spirited and Most Enthusiastic awards. It was quite a year!
The 2008-09 season has started off with a bang winning our divisions and Master Champions at our first Competition and All the squads taking 1st at State and becoming State Champs again. Then the Juniors performed at Athletic Championships missing 1st place by .24ths of a point. The kids really rocked it this season.
As great as it was though, it couldn't keep the bad news from coming. My husband received orders to relocate to Texas and the Mavericks were going to go out of business...UNTIL it was decided that we had come way to far to let it all go now, so Mrs. Diana (Coach Diana) decided to take over the business and keep it going. It will be scaled back of course as she gets her feet wet this next season, but the MAVERICKS will live on and thrive. They will SUCCEED! I on the other hand will have to watch from afar. Hopefully, with some luck, I will be able to fly out and see the girls at State or Nationals 2010!
