Rose, Laurita Key No. 20 Men's Lacrosse's Victory Over Eastern Connecticut
MANSFIELD, Conn. (March 2, 2011) – Senior co-captain Chris Laurita and junior attacker Kevin Rose each turned in a hat-trick as the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s lacrosse team, ranked 20th in the most recent United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll, cruised to a 13-6 victory over six-time Little East Conference champion Eastern Connecticut State University in Mansfield, Conn. With the win, the Ducks moved to 2-0 on the young season, while the Warriors fell to 0-1 on the year.

First Annual Alumni Game a Huge Success!
The even-year alumni defeated the odd-year alums 15-10 in a hard-fought game that wasn't decided until the fourth quarter. Matt Klayman scored the first alumni game goal in Viking history and Pat Jenkins(2), Mike Earl(still owes $25), Shane Foley(2), Jeff White and Andrew Lockwood all contributed scores for the even squad. Chris Laurita led the odd-year team with four goals and Theo Smyk(3), Mike Valentino(3), Kory Kelly(2) and Steve Fellouris(2) completed the scoring. One of the many game highlights was a massive hit by Kory Kelly placed on Anthony Little which jarred the ball and Little loose. Mike Valentino hasn't lost his scoring touch after all these years. A few alums contributed to the fertilization of the sidelines after realizing they can't get up and down the field like they used to.They must miss those GASSERS! It was a great time and good to see all those players who participated. Count on the third weekend in June of 2009 for the second annual Viking alumni game. GO VIKINGS!
