100% attendance is the program expectation. Attendance will be taken at each session. All players must fill out an SBHS Strength and Conditioning Agreement to participate. Go to the Strength/Stick menu to download a form.
Do not underestimate the importance of consistent strength training for your success as a player and for the success of the overall SBHS lacrosse program.
PLAYERS MUST MEET THE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING CRITERIA IN ORDER TO MAKE THE PROGRAM.

OUR SKILL LEVEL, AS A TEAM, MUST IMPROVE. Here's step one: Wall Ball Routine.
EVERYONE, ALL GRADES ALL POSITIONS SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIT THIS INTO YOUR SCHEDULE..... ALL DRILLS MUST BE PERFORMED WITH BOTH HANDS 1. USE YOUR GLOVES, ARM PADS AND HELMET 2. STAND ABOUT 5 YARDS FROM THE WALL. BE A TRIPLE THREAT(STAND SIDEWAYS). Shooter, Feeder, and Dodger! 3. PERFORM THIS ROUTINE 4 TO 5 TIMES A WEEK FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES AND YOUR SKILLS WILL IMPROVE DRAMATICALLY IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME DRILLS: 1. Right hand quick stick- 50 times each hand 2. Right hand - 1 hand catch and cradle -50 times each hand 3. Right hand (1 hand only) quick stick - 50 times each hand 4. Right hand catch & face dodge - 50 times each hand 5. Split dodge-throw right, catch right, split dodge to left hand, throw left, catch left, split back to right hand - 50 times 6. Quick Stick- Change hands on every toss while ball is in the air-50 times 7. Cross handed - 50 times each hand 8. Around the back - 50 times each hand 9. Right Hand after a hard fake - 50 times each hand 10. Be Creative- develop your own * This routine takes 15 to 20 minute. Get the music going and have some fun! |
