The Northwest Jaguars win the AAAA 2015 MCBA Fall Season!
The Jags won 11 of their last 12 games; to include a 4 and 0 run in the playoffs, while only giving up 1 run in 28 innings of playoff baseball. A special thank you to the players, coaches, parents and fans who made it all possible.

All good things must come to end - Gaithersburg defeats Northwest to end the Jags Playoff run
Gaithersburg put up 5 runs in the 3rd inning on their way to a 7–1 win over the Jaguars. Gaithersburg pitcher Anthony Felitti went 5 strong shutout innings. The Jags had 6 hits; Senior Thomas Brauch had a pair of hits, while Senior Devin Rosen, Sophomore Josh Netterville, Senior Kyle Boyers and Sophomore Griffin Bubb each had a hit. The Jaguars did push a run across in the top of the 7th inning.
The Jaguars start off the playoff season with an all-round great performance against Wootton
The weather was perfect, the stands were full and the Jaguars did not disappoint. The Jaguars defeated Wooten 9 -1 to advance to the next round of the playoffs. Senior Joseph Brauch pitched a complete game (7 innings) allowing only one run. The Jaguars collected 12 hits; as Senior Devin Rosen and Sophomore Josh Netterville had a multi -hit game, Devin also collected 2 RBI’s. The Jaguars put up 6 runs in the 2nd inning and 3 in the 6th inning, on their way to the 9 – 1 victory. The Jags will face Gaithersburg on Monday, May 11th 4:00pm at Gaithersburg HS. The Jaguar Seniors shine bright on senior night as the Jags defeat Rockville
The Jaguar Seniors; Bradley Berman Kyle Boyers, Joseph Brauch, Thomas Brauch, Zach Ginsberg, Josh Levy and Devin Rosen all played a key role as the Jags defeated Rockville 14–8. Freshman Dillan Jaeger, Thomas Brauch, Sophomore Mac Adelman, Kyle Boyers, Sophomore Griffin Bubb and Sophomore Dean Edmonson all had a multi-hit game. A total of 10 Jaguars had at least one RBI. The Jags finished their regular season 12–6, the playoffs begin Friday May 8th. Please check back later this week for more details about the playoffs.
The Jaguars get the best of Watkins Mill on a great afternoon for baseball.
The Jaguars rolled over Watkins Mill 19 -1 in 5 innings. Four Jaguars had a multi-hit afternoon; Freshman Matt Mulhem, Sophomore Josh Netterville, Sophomore Mac Adelman and Senior Kyle Boyers. Josh Netterville, Mac Adelman, Senior Devin Rosen, Kyle Boyers and Senior Joseph Brauch each had a mutli-RBI afternoon. Three Jaguars pitchers held Watkins Mill to one run; Mac Adelman, Senior Zach Ginsberg and Freshman Justin Violette. The Jags are now 10 - 6 on the season.
SENIOR DAY…. Please come out to Northwest HS on Monday, May 4th at 4:15pm to thank our seniors.
The Jaguars come out on top as they shutdown Churchill the last 3 innings
The Jaguars and Churchill matched each other every inning except the 5th inning. The Jaguars pushed a run across in the bottom of the 5th inning as they defeated Churchill 4 – 3. The Jaguars managed only 3 hits, but did reach base on several Churchill errors. Senior Joseph Brauch went 6 strong innings, working out of several tuff jams. Sophomore Griffin Bubb came in to close out the game in the 7th inning. The Jags are now 10-6 on the season. Saturday, the Jags travel to Watkins Mill HS for a 2:30pm start time.
SENIOR DAY…. Please come out to Northwest HS on Monday, May 4th at 5:15pm to thank our seniors. The Jags will square off against the Rockville Rams.
The Jaguars had 15 hits on their way to a victory over Walter Johnson
Senior Kyle Boyers lead the hit parade with 4 hits and 3 RBI’s. Four other Jaguars had a multi-hit game; Sophomore Josh Netterville, Sophomore Mac Adelman, Senior Thomas Brauch and Sophomore Griffin Bubb. The Jags defeated Walter Johnson 12–7. Kyle Boyers stood tall on the mound going 5 strong innings, working out of several jams. The Jags are now 9-6 on the season. The Jaguars square off against Churchill on Wednesday, April 29th at 3:30pm Northwest HS. On Saturday the Jags travel to Watkins Mill HS for a 2:30pm start time.
The Jaguars shine under the lights at Blake High School
It took some time but the Jaguars came to life in the 4th, 5th and 6th inning; scoring 16 runs on their way to a 17–1 win over Blake. Sophomore Josh Netterville, Senior Devin Rosen and Sophomore Griffin Bubb each had a multi-hit night and 7 other Jags collected a hit with Junior Ben Teachum, Griffin Bubb and Senior Bradley Berman each with a double. Josh Netterville was 3 for 5 including a triple, 4 RBI’s and a towering home run over the left field fence. Sophomore Mac Adelman and Griffin Bubb held Blake to 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 11. The Jags are now 8-6 on the season. The Jaguars have 3 games this week as they make their final push into the playoff season.
The Jaguars and Walt Whitman stand toe to toe in pitching duel . . . .
Walt Whitman scored a run in the top of the 8th inning as they defeated the Jags 2-1. Senior Joseph Brauch pitched a gem; going 8 innings, walking only 2 batters while striking out 7 Vikings. Walt Whitman got a run in the top of the 2nd on a controversial balk call. The Jags came back and scored a run in the bottom of the 2nd; Joseph Brauch started off the inning with a hit and eventually scored on a Senior Kyle Boyers hit. Senior Devin Rosen and Sophomore Mac Adelman both had a multi-hit game. Another stat-line on Joseph’s pitching performance; Walt Whitman batters had 25 foul balls. The Jags are now 7-6 on the season. The Jags play a Friday night game at Blake High School 7:00pm.
The Jags jump on top of Seneca Valley early
The Jaguars scored 3 runs in their half of the 1st inning; Senior Devin Rosen walked, Sophomore Mac Adelman got a hit, Senior Thomas Brauch hit a double to score Devin Rosen, Sophomore Griffin Bubb got a hit to score Mac Adelman, and Senior Joseph Brauch reached on fielder’s choice as Thomas Brauch scored. Senior Kyle Boyer’s, pitching for the Jags, shut out Seneca Valley for the first three innings. Both Seneca Valley and the Jags scored 2 runs in the 4th inning; Sophomre Alex Madoo reached 2nd base on an error, Sophomore Josh Netterville drew a walk, Mac Adelman got a hit to load the bases, Thomas Brauch laid down a perfect safety squeeze to score Josh Levy who was a courtesy runner for Alex Madoo and Josh Netterville scored on the play as well with great heads up base running. The Jags picked up another run in the 6th inning. Mac Adelman and Thomas Brauch each had a 2 hit game. Kyle Boyers pitched 6 strong innings allowing only 2 runs, walking only 2 batters and striking out 7. With the 6–4 victory over Seneca Valley, the Jaguars are now 7-5 on the season. The Jags will play the next 2 days; Walt Whitman at Northwest 3:30pm, and a Friday night game at Blake High School 7:00pm.
The Blair Blazers Shut Down the Jaguars
Jake Donaldson pitched a complete game shut-out against the Jags and only gave up one hit; Blair defeated the Jags 7–0. In the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings, the Blair pitcher only needed 17 pitches to retire 9 straight Jaguar batters. Senior Thomas Brauch got the only Jag hit. The Jaguars fall to 6–5 on the season. The Jags will play the next 3 days; Seneca Valley at Northwest 3:30pm, Walt Whitman at Northwest 3:30pm, and a Friday night game at Blake High School.
Northwest and Damascus go toe to toe for 9 innings
Northwest and Damascus go toe to toe for 9 innings with the Jags scoring in the bottom of the 9th. Jags Win Jags Win……
The Jaguars and Damascus each scored some runs early as the Jags were on top 3-2 after 2 complete innings. Sophomore Mac Adelman for the Jags and Damascus settled down and each threw 3 scoreless innings. At the end of the 7th it was Damascus 3 - Northwest 3, extra innings. In the top of 8th, with a couple of walks and a hit, Damascus scored a run. Still in the top of the 8th with bases loaded and one out, Damascus attempted a suicide squeeze, but a great defense was played by Senior Pitcher Devin Rosen and Sophomore Catcher Alex Madoo, getting the runner out at home. The Jaguars were down one going into the bottom of the 8th. Senior Kyle Boyers walked then Senior Thomas Brauch doubles putting runners on 2nd and 3rd. Sophomore Alex Madoo layed down a perfect bunt for a suicide squeeze to score Kyle Boyers. We went into the top of the 9th tied 4–4. Devin Rosen got Damascus 1-2-3 in the top of the 9th. Sophomore Griffin Bubb started off the bottom of the 9th with a walk. Sophomore Josh Netterville advanced Griffin Bubb to 2nd with a sacrifice bunt. With 2 outs, Mac Adelman hit a double to left field to drive in Griffin Bubb; Jags 5 – Damascus 4, game over. Jags Win Jags Win.
The Jags are now 6–3 on the season.
Gaithersburg rallies in the bottom of the 6th to defeat the Jaguars
Jaguar's Senior Joseph Brauch and Gaithersburg’s Nick Pantos pitched a gem for the first 5 innings. The Jags scored 2 in the top of the 5th inning; Joseph Brauch led off the inning with a walk, Senior Kyle Boyers doubled to score courtesy runner Senior Bradley Berman. Sophomore Nick Phelps laid down a sacrifice bunt which advanced Kyle Boyers to 3rd base; Sophomore Griffin Bubb executed a suicide squeeze as Kyle Boyers scored and Griffin Bubb reached 1st base, as the Jags tied it up 2-2 in the top of the 5th. Gaithersburg broke it open in the bottom of the 6th as they crossed the plate 5 times, to take the lead 7–2. Gaithersburg’s Anthony Felitti and Bradly Lawyer shut down the Jags in the 6th and 7th inning respectively. Gaithersburg remains undefeated as they are 10–0 and the Jags are now 6–4 on the season.
The Jaguars come up short against Sherwood
Northwest couldn't get it gone as they lost to Sherwood 6-2. The Jaguars managed only 4 hits; Senior Thomas Brauch had a pair of hits, Senior Joseph Brauch and Senior Devin Rosen each had one hit. Joseph Brauch did a great job pitching for 5 1/3 innings keeping Sherwood off balance; the Jags did not have a stellar day in the field, which helped Sherwood post 6 runs. The Jags fall to 4-2 on the season. Come out and support the Jags as they take on the Whitman Vikings 3:30pm Friday, April 10th at Northwest high school.
The Jaguars hold on to defeat the Wootton Patriots
On a beautiful afternoon for baseball the Jaguars hold on to defeat Wootton 3 – 1. Senior Joseph Brauch had a dominating performance on the mound as he only gave up one hit in 6 innings while striking out 9 Patriots. The Jags scored 2 in the 4th inning as Senior Devin Rosen got things started with a single, Sophomore Nick Phelps was hit by a pitch, Senior Kyle Boyers got an RBI single and Sophomore Josh Netterville also got an RBI single in the 4th inning as well. Sophomore Mac Adelman got a single with 2 outs in the 7th, followed by a Joseph Brauch triple that scored Sophmore Mac Adelman. Josh Netterville and Mac Adelman both had a 3 hit game. Relief pitcher, Senior Devin Rosen, closed things out, as he got the Patriots lead-off hitter to hit into a game ending 1-2-3 double play. The JAGS WIN,…….The Jags are now 5 – 2 on the season.
The Jaguars make a late game surge against Sherwood, but come up short
The Jags scored 2 runs in the 5th inning, 2 runs in the 6th inning and 1 run in the 7th inning, but come up short as Sherwood defeated the Jag 6–5. The Sherwood Warriors had got a strong pitching performance from Matt Irvin; Matt went 5 innings giving up 1 run, while striking out 9 Jags. Sophomore Mac Adelman and Senior Devin Rosen continue to swing the bat very well as they each had 2 hits, Senior Kyle Boyers had 2 hits as well. The Jags are now 5–3 on the season. The Jaguars plan to bounce back as they take on Damascus tomorrow at NWHS 3:30pm.
The Jaguars score 4 in the 7th to defeat Clarksburg
Northwest trailed Clarksburg 5-2 entering the home half of the 7th inning and then the Jags scored 4 runs in the 7th inning to defeat Clarksburg 6–5. Sophomore Mac Adelman got things started in the 7th with a single; Senior Joseph Brauch then drew a walk, followed by a Senior Devin Rosen single to load the bases. A ground ball fielders choice by Sophomore Dean Edmundson plated the first run of the inning as all runners advanced. Freshman Alex Madoo made his varsity debut with a single which drove in the Jags second run of the inning. Griffin Bubb drew a walk to load the bases, Josh Netterville executed a perfect bunt to tie the game at 5–5. With bases loaded, Nick Phelps drew a walk as the Jags scored their fourth run of the inning to defeat Clarksburg 6–5. The Jaguars played error free baseball, as Griffin Bubb turned in several nice defensive plays at shortstop.
The Jaguars bounce back after their first loss of the season as they defeat Einstein
Northwest wasted little time as they put their first loss of the season behind them. The Jags scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning and 3 runs in the 3rd inning on their way to an 11 – 6 win over Einstein. Sophomore Mac Adelman, Senior Thomas Brauch and Sophomore Josh Netterville all had a multi-hit game and 6 different Jags had an RBI. Mac Adelman pitched 3 strong innings followed by Sophomore Griffin Bubb who also pitch 3 strong innings. The Jags then handed the ball over to Senior Kyle Boyers in the 7th inning; Kyle ensured the Jags got back in the win column.
The Jaguars mount a 7th inning coming back but fall short
Northwest traveled to Quince Orchard to face their cross-town rival the QO Cougars. The Jaguars came up short as they suffered their first defeat of the season. Jack Ropelewski shutdown the Jags as he threw 6 1/3rd scoreless innings and went 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI. Senior Devin Rosen had a multi-hit game for the Jags as he went 2 for 3 with a run scored. Northwest rallied in the 7th as Senior Josh Levy’s base hit drove in Sophomore Mac Adelman and Senior Devin Rosen to cut the lead to one run, but it ended there as QO defeated NW 3 -2.
The Jaguars continue to score runs and get strong pitching performances
In a rather quick 1 hour 20 minute game Northwest defeats Springbrook 11 -1 in 5 innings. Seniors Thomas Brauch, Joseph Brauch, Junior Ben Teachum and Sophomore Mac Adelman lead the Jags hit parade each collecting 2 hits, as the Jags had a total of 12 hits. Another strong pitching performance for the Jags; Mac Adelman went 3 innings, striking out 4 batters while only allowing 1 walk. Senior Kyle Boyers went 2 innings, striking out 3 batters and not allowing anyone to reach base. Please support our Baseball Jaguars Friday, March 27th at 3:30pm as we travel to Blair High School take on the Blair Blazers.
Opening day – the weather was cold, but the Jags were HOT!!!!!
After a lot of indoor practices, only a couple of outdoor practice and only one scrimmage it was great to see the 2015 Northwest Jaguars take the field at home in Germantown. NW lights up the scoreboard on their way to a 35 – 0 win over Northwood in 5 innings, 7 different Jaguars had a multi-hit game, with a double from Senior Thomas Brauch and 10 different Jaguars recorded at least one RBI. Sophomore Dean Edmundson led the way on the mound, followed by Senior Zach Ginsberg then Sophomore Griffin Bubb. The trio shut-out Northwood and only allowed 3 hits….
