The Jags finished the regular season AAAA 2016 MCBA Fall Season with an 11-2 record to secure first place and a number 1 seed in the season ending playoff tournament. The Jags went on to win the Fall Playoff Tournament; going 3–0 in the playoff tournament. The Jags have now won back-to-back (B2B) AAAA MCBA Fall Seasons; 2015 & 2016.
A special thank you to the players, coaches, parents and fans who made it all possible.

Host a Collegiate Baseball Player this Summer!
The Rockville Express baseball team is currently searching for host families for the 2016 summer season. This summertime wood bat league is part of the Cal Ripken Collegiate League and attracts some of the most talented college baseball players from across the nation. These players have been recommended by their college coaches and recruited to play by the Express, with many having the potential to succeed as professional baseball players.
A vital part of a successful season is to have host families provide3 housing for the players, giving them support and a family atmosphere for the summer. When you host a player, you are not just taking on a guest for the summer. Your family will be embarking on an experience3 that will make you a part of an extended baseball family.

Kennedy defeats Northwest 3-1 in the first round of the playoffs
The Jags season came to an abrupt end as Kennedy pitcher C. Amparo pitched a complete game (7 innings); giving up only 1 run, striking out 6, while not allowing a walk. The Jags could not mount a threat. Kennedy got some timely hits while also executing a succeed squeeze as they scored 3 runs.
The Jags record for the season was 12 – 7.

Germantown Pulse: Northwest Baseball Wins Six Straight
The Jags defeat cross-town rivals Seneca Valley 12 – 0
Northwest collected 15 hits; several Jags had a multi-hit game, Matt Mulhern (sophomore), Jalen Magbie-Hunter (junior), Ryan Kennington (junior) and Michael Yuille (junior). Michael Yuille hit a home-run over the left-center field fence. Ryan Kennington (junior) and Zach Gerber (junior), each had 3 RBI’s. Zach Greber pitched 6 scoreless innings; allowing 0 runs, 2 hits, 7 strikeouts and only 2 walks.
The Jags next game is Tuesday, May 10th at BCC 3:00pm. This is continuation game, from last week’s suspended game due to rain. BCC leads the Jags 4 – 2 in the top of the 5th inning.
The Jags record is now 12 – 5 on the year.
BCC defeats Northwest 4 – 2
In a rain suspended game BCC was leading the Jags 4 – 2 in the top of the 5th inning. The game was completed today as the score remained the same 4 – 2. The Jags got a multi-hit game from Matt Mulhern (sophomore) and Dean Edmundson (junior).
Our Northwest Jaguars finished the regular season with a 12 – 6 record. Finishing in 3rd place.
The playoff season begins Friday (May 12th); our Jags will host Kennedy 2:00pm at NWHS.
On Senior Day Northwest defeats Blair 3 – 2
Ben Teachum (senior) got it all started on his day with a double and later scored on a double by Michael Yuille (junior).
Michael Yuille and Ryan Kennington (junior) each collected 2 hits on the day. Mac Adelman (junior) pitched 5 strong innings, Justin Violette (sophomore) worked his way out of jam in the 6th inning and Griffin Bubb (junior) closed the door in the 7th with a 1-2-3 inning.
A special thanks to all people who worked on the field to get it ready to play and set-up the festivities for Senior Day.
The Jaguars 11 – Churchill Bulldogs 6
On a cold damp afternoon, the Jaguars maintained their early lead over the Bulldogs. Northwest jumped all over Churchill early, the Jags scored 5 runs in the first inning and another 4 in the 2nd inning. Jalen Hunter (junior) and Zack Greber (junior) each had a 2 hit game, while Mac Adelman (junior) had 3 RBI’s. Dean Edmunson (junior), Michael Yuille (junior) and Justin Violette (sophomore) all shared duties on the mound in victory.
The Jaguars shutout Richard Montgomery 4 - 0
Mac Adelman (junior) dominated Richard Montgomery; pitching a complete game shutout, allowing only 5 hits, striking out 9, with no walks. Ryan Kennington (junior) supplied most of the Jags offense with 3 RBIs and 2 hits. Other hits were had by Matt Mulhern (sophomore), Mac Adelman (junior) and a double by Ben Teachum (senior).
The Jags rally late in the game to defeat Blake 7 – 1
At the end of 6 innings, Blake and Northwest were all locked up at 1 to 1 in a pitching duel. In the 7th inning the Jags scored 6 runs; Ryan Kennington (junior) hit a GRAND SLAM to break it open for our Jaguars, Jon Hartig (sophomore) collected 3 hits for the Jags. Griffin Bubb (junior) pitched 4.2 innings and Dean Edmundson (junior) pitched 2.1; they allowed only 1 run, sticking out 7 and walking only 2.
The Jaguars 6 Kennedy 1
Dean Edmundson (junior) was dominate on the mound; pitching 6 innings giving up only 1 run, on 4 hits, while striking out 14 batters. Offensively the Jags collected 13 hits; Matt Mulhern, (sophomore), Jalen Hunter (junior) and Jon Hartig (sophomore) all had 3 hits.
The Jaguars win against Einstein ….. 14 – 9
On a great afternoon for baseball the Jags put up 14 runs on 12 hits as they defeat the Titans of Einstein HS 14 – 9. The Jags offense was led by several players; Matt Mulhern (sophomore) had 3 hits, Mac Adelman (junior) had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, Ryan Kennington (junior) had a hit and 3 RBI’s and Dean Edmundson (junior) had 2 hits.
Northwest next game is Wednesday, April 20th 3:45pm at Kennedy HS.
Clarksburg halts the Jaguars winning streak at 3 games w/a 2–0 win over the Jags
Clarksburg pitcher Matthew Danis held the Jags to only 3 hits on his way to a complete game shutout. Ryan Kennington (Junior) collected 2 hits and Michael Yuille had the Jags other hit, on an afternoon where they could not put up a serious threat.
The Jags shutout Wootton 7 – 0
The Jaguars score 7 runs; as Mac Adelman (Junior) had 2 doubles, Ryan Kennington had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, John Hartig (Sophomore) had 2 hits and an RBI, Josh Netterville (Junior) had a hit and 3 RBI’s. Griffin Bubb (Junior) threw a complete game shutout with only 75 pitches and several nice defensive gems behind him.
The Jaguars beat their cross-town rival QO 8 – 6
A typical QO vs Jags game… tension filled, high drama and several key plays. The Jags scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning and QO answered right back with 4 in the top of the 4th inning. Dean Edmundson (Junior) hit a 2 run double in the bottom of the 4th inning. QO scored 2 in the top of the 5th to pull within one run. Mac Adelman (Junior) had a 2 out RBI single in the 6th inning to add an insurance run. Michael Yuille (Junior) pitched the 6th and 7th inning to close the door on QO.
Jags defeat the Springbrook Blue Devils 19 – 4
The Jags collected 16 hits as they scored 19 runs. Josh Netterville (Junior), Ryan Kennington (Junior), Michael Yuille (Junior) Nick Phelps (Junior) and Jalen Magbie-Hunter (Junior) all had a multi-hit game. Josh led the way with 2 inside the park home-runs and 5 RBI’s. Justin Viollete (sophomore) and Michael Yuille (Junior) combined to pitch 7 innings and hold Springbrook to 4 runs.
Sherwood defeats the Jaguars in 5 innings 11 – 1
On a cold afternoon at Northwest High School the Sherwood Warriors bats were hot. Sherwood scored 11 runs on 11 hits and 6 of those hits were doubles. Sherwood pitcher Matt Ervin shutdown the Jags, holding them to 2 hits and 1 run. Mac Adelman (Junior) and Griffin Bubb (Junior) each collected a hit for the Jaguars.

Jaguar Tournament to Benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
The Jaguars split a double header as Sherwood, BCC & Northwest played a mini tournament to help raise funds for people battling Leukemia, as our very own JV coach, Kyle Culver, was diagnosed with Leukemia late last spring.
The Jags walk all over BCC 13 – 3
The Jaguars drew 13 walks and collected 5 hits on route to their 13 – 3 win over BCC. Dean Edmundson (Junior) had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s, which included a 2 run double that ended the game at 13 – 3. Pitchers Justin Violette (Sophomore) and Mac Adelman (Junior) combined to keep BBC off-balance all game, and the defense played error free ball behind them.
Sherwood shuts down the Jags 7 – 0
Sherwood pitcher Conner Brady struck out 5 Jags while only allowing 1 walk in 5 innings keeping the Jags scoreless. Tyler Bernstein came in to close out the last 2 innings. Northwest collected 6 hits; 2 each from Ben Teachum (Senior) and Zach Greber (Junior). The Jags committed 4 errors and had several miscues that kept them from making a run at Sherwood.
The Gaithersburg Trojans shut down the Jaguars 10 – 0
The defending AAAA 2015 State Champions shut down the Jaguars 10 – 0. Going into the 6th inning the score was 3 – 0 Gaithersburg, then the Trojans put up 7 runs in the 6th inning. The Jags only got 3 hits; Ryan Kennington (Junior), Mac Adelman (Junior) and Dean Edmundson (Junior) each had one hit.
Jags rally to beat the Paint Branch Panthers 7 – 4
The Jaguars scored 4 runs in the 6th inning, with Ben Teachum (Senior) leading the way. Ben had a key line drive hit back up the middle with two strikes that drove in 2 runs, Ryan Kennington (Junior) also had 2 RBI’s. Zack Greber (Junior) was sharp on the mound through 3 innings. Mac Adelman came in during the 4th inning to get the Jaguars out of a jam and went on to pitch 2 more innings. Griffin Bubb pitched the 7th inning as the Jaguars even their season record 1 – 1.
Jags fall in their season opener 6 -2
On a windy afternoon at Northwest HS the Rockville Rams scored 4 runs in the 7th inning to hand the Jaguars a loss in their season opener. Justin Violette (sophomore) Northwest starting pitcher went 5 innings; allowing only 1 run, 2 hits, striking out 5, with no walks. Michael Yullie (Junior) led the offensive attack for Jags with 2 doubles a single and 2 RBI’s.
