We are starting to make a few changes in both of our Tuesday & Saturday Youth MMA Courses by changing the way we have been doing the class! We will be going to an In-School Belt System called the Black Diamond Fighting System. Each point on the diamond points to a discipline (kickboxing, boxing, Freestyle wrestling, and submission grappling), and in the middle of the diamond the letters MMA. The Youth MMA Course at Ridge Pointe Academy is unlike any other youth martial arts courses around. We cross train in our Youth MMA Course in American Kickboxing, Boxing, Freestyle Wrestling, and Submission Grappling which make up the MMA training Course.

With the new belt we will be able to develop our Youth MMA Students Confidence, Discipline, Respect, and Leadership skills. Also the Youth MMA Students will be conditioning, learning techniques, and the application of them are emphasized. We will not spend any time in the class doing martial art forms, but we will however, require the students to wear a T-shirt & GI pants with their colored belts signifying their rank and skill level. This is done to give the children a sense of progress they have made, as well as solid goals to strive towards.


As the chief instructor in the Youth MMA Course at Ridge Pointe Academy, I feel that this new system will help to keep the students more focused in class. It will help with their self-discipline, self-esteem and self-control in class. The life lessons and confidence your children will learn training at Ridge Pointe Academy will carry over into their school, personal, and home lives.

RIDGE POINTE ACADEMY BELT SYSTEM
IN-SCHOOL SYSTEM

There are 9 Belt Levels at Ridge Pointe Academy in Youth MMA Classes.
White - Yellow - Orange - Green - Blue - Purple - Brown - Red - Black

MINIMUM TIME REQUIRED TO ADVANCE BETWEEN BELTS

I.. WHITE – Beginner
II.. YELLOW – 24 HRS., and depends on the individuals progress.
III. .ORANGE – 48 HRS., and depends on the individuals progress.
IV. GREEN – 80 HRS., and depends on the individuals progress.
V. BLUE – 112 HRS., and depends on the individuals progress.
VI. PURPLE – 152 HRS., and depends on the individuals progress.
VII. BROWN – 200 HRS., and depends on the individuals progress.
VIII. RED – 250 HRS., and depends on the individuals progress.
IX. BLACK-360 HRS., and depends on the individuals progress.

BELT SYSTEM DEGREES/STRIPES
In order to test you must have a certain number of stripes on your belt. You EARN these stripes by attending Class, Training and Competition.
You will receive a stripe for every 2 competition tournaments.
You will receive 2 stripes for every tournament won.
White thru Orange Belt must have 2 stripes to test, and depends on the individuals progress.

Green Belt,Blue Belt, and Purple Belts must have 3 stripes to test, and depends on the individuals progress.

Brown Belts must have 4 stripes to test, and depends on the individuals progress. Also earn these stripes by helping teach,
working on a new lower belts in a different art and or tournament competition.

Red Belts must have 4 stripes to test, and depends on the individuals progress. Also earn these stripes by helping teach,
working on a new lower belts in a different art and or tournament competition.

Black Belts get a stripe at the end of their 25th class and must have 4 to 6 stripes to test. Also earn these stripes by helping teach,
working on a new Black belt in a different art and or tournament competition.

It is not a given that you will receive a stripe or belt after your required amount of classes or test. You must EARN the STRIPES and BELTS!

School and Good Grades are very important here at Ridge Pointe Academy, this is also part of earning your stripes.
