Equipment Advice
Subscribe to our NewsletterEquipment:
While we do have some equipment to loan, we recommend that players
have their own glove, bat and helmet. However, we also recommend that
you do NOT spend too much money;
Here are some guidelines:
We recommend either buying used equipment or buying online from
softball.com or Amazon. there is a second hand sports good on Taft St
near Flamingo in Pembroke Pines that always has a good selection.
We advise avoiding Dicks or Walmart; Softball.com give you a 15% off
coupon for your first order if you sign up for their mailing list.
Gloves: If you do buy one thing, buy a glove. Gloves size should be in
the 11"-12.5" range. Gloves are for their NON_THROWING hand (yes we
have had girls turn up with the wrong hand glove). Baseball gloves
work fine (they normally just have a bigger hand pocket).
These gloves are an excellent choice for less than $35:

Also whatever you do, DO NOT buy the garbage pink t-ball gloves. They
are garbage and you will need to replace them.
Helmets: MUST HAVE A BATTING CAGE/MASK; This is one item that is
always cheaper used and they generally have quite a few at the used
sporting good store.
If you buy new, this is an excellent choice new for less than $35:

Bats: Here is a size guideline. If you have any questions email me:

Bats can cost a lot. There is ZERO reason to do that for a first season
There is currently an Easton Sapphire Bat on sale for $25. Little pink
for me, but great first bat!

Cleats or Shoes: You can buy cleats (molded - not metal) or start the
first session in sneakers HOWEVER if they wear sneakers make sure you
don't care if they get dirty. Our infield is clay and it makes shoes
orange. Soccer cleats are OK and probably cheaper and easier to find.
Baseball cleats are also fine (they just are wider).
