So what is a "Swing-A-Thon" anyhow?

On April 30th we will have all of the teams on the fields taking ten swings to try and get 5 hits.  The teams will get 45 minutes on the field to accomplish that.  Your coaches will help organize your team and pitch to them during your time slot.  That is it - fairly simple.  People can contribute per swing or just a flat donation and it is all done on-line, no money to collect or forms to fill out. 

Why are we having a fund raiser?

The money we receive from our business sponsors, registration, and Snack Shack enable us to pay our costs each year, but there is only a limited amount of additional funds to do capital projects around the complex and improve the overall experience for our players. This event is to help us raise money so we can do those additional projects, like the new batting cages we installed with the help of the funding we got from efforts like the Home Run Club. The more we get, the more we can do. 

What is our goal for the event?

Yes, it is a fundraiser for the league, but we really do hope the players have fun and we have scheduled an entire day of events for them around the Swing-A-Thon.  Financially our goal is to raise $30,000 and we are off to a great start with almost $9,000 already raised. The ask is that every player try and raise $100.  If we can do that, we will make and potentially exceed our goal!

I am sure some of you feel like you already gave at registration and/or attended the kick-off at Grottos.  That is great and we can’t thank you enough for your efforts and you can see the difference it is already making!  This fund raiser is a great way to also tap into your network of friends and family by simply leveraging the on-line system to send an email or post to your social media account.  You will be amazed how impactful that can be and we have one player that has already raised over $1,000 himself! We also have almost 40 players who have already made or surpassed their goal!!

What will the players get for participating?

To help entice the players and each team to participate, we will be giving away prizes for the top three overall earners, the top earner in each division, and the top earning team from each division.  We will also have numerous other prizes the day of the event for "closest to the pin", longest hit, etc.

Speaking of that day and the celebration, we have that setup to be a fantastic day. We will have the the Flaming Caucasians playing live, Senator Carper throwing out the first pitch, mascots from the Blue Rocks and UD, Moon Bounce, Face Painting, and tons of food and stuff for the kids to do. It's going to be an awesome day that is completely FREE as a thank you for your participation and we are expecting 1,000 people.

As an added incentive, if we meet our $30,000 goal we are also going to have a movie night on Heeney for all the players again at NO COST.

OUR 60^th CELEBRATION IS THIS SUNDAY AND WE WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO COME TO THE EVENT AND THE KICK-OFF WITH SENATOR CARPER AT 12PM SHARP.  PLEASE WEAR YOUR UNIFORMS AND 60^th PINS!! WE WILL ALSO BE GIVING OUT ALL OF THE SWING-A-THON PLAYER AND TEAM PRIZES AT 12.

We are doing GREAT and HAVE RAISED ALMOST $23,000 IN DONATIONS.  If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, there is still time to donate and have your child participate in the SWING-A-THON competition. There is also OVER $5,000 WORTH OF ITEMS FOR THE SILENT AUCTION.  We have tickets to numerous sporting events, signed items from the Flyers, numerous golf foursomes, and tons of gift certificates to local restaurants and spas. The Swing-A-Thon activates will be going on all day.  All Star Baseball Academy will be providing a hitting clinic.  After our opening ceremony we will have the Moon Bounce Open, You Dee, Rocky from the Blue Rocks and Baby Blue will be roaming around AND of course the most famous band in the land will be playing – THE FLAMING CAUCASIANS!

Dear Naamans Family,

As you know as part of our 60^th Anniversary we have a goal to raise $60,000 this year so we can continue to make key capital improvements throughout the complex.  We have achieved the first half of this goal through business donations and now we need your help to raise the other half.

To achieve this goal, we are excited to announce our 1^st Annual Naamans Little League Swing-A-Thon.  The Swing-A-Thon will be a centerpiece of our 60^th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, April 30^th and is a fun and competitive fundraiser where each Rookie, Single A, Double A, Triple A, and Majors division player will have 10 swings.  Pledges can be made in the form of a flat donation or on a per hit basis.  

Through parents, family, and friends we are asking each player to help us by raising at least $60. If we can achieve that commitment across our League, we will meet our goal and hopefully even more!  This will significantly help us continue to make improvements around our complex and set the foundation for the next 60 years.

To streamline our fundraiser and keep it simple, we are going online. You will now be able to reach out to friends and family by email, Facebook, and Twitter, instead of going door-to-door, tracking commitments, and handling checks. However, cash and checks will gladly be accepted.  

In the coming days, you will receive an email with a link to your player's pledge page. You do not need to login or change anything. Simply make a flat donation or a pledge per hit for whatever you can, and share your player's link with friends and family.
