2016 NLL Umpiring Clinic
It has been a long standing tradition in Naamans Little League to have our league supported by volunteer umpires. Many of the umpires on the Naamans crew have come up through the league over the years with their children and some on the crew are still on their journey through the league.
My name is David Acker and I will be serving as the Head Umpire for the 2016 season. It is my goal to cover every game in Majors, Triple A and Double A this year with a trained umpire. In past seasons, that process has been very successful, but I want to stress to everyone that there is no such thing every game having a mandatory umpire.
I would like to grow our current list of volunteers this year and take this opportunity to extend an invitation to EVERYONE in the league from T-ball to the Majors to join me and a number of current umpires at our 2016 Naamans Umpire Clinic.
The purpose of this clinic is geared towards being an introduction to umpiring. There will be a number of current umpires in attendance to help teach the basics of umpiring. We will be focusing on core basics, tips, tricks and tools to promote confidence in anyone interested in learning how to umpire.
For any of those who wanted to be a coach and missed out on that opportunity, then this also is a great way to stay involved in the league. There is no such thing as "my kid is to young or my kid is to old". We are all in this together for the betterment of the children and for Naamans Little League.
