2025 Rules Changes Motions

      • No Mercy Rule for Junior and Senior A  Divisions Motion was Continued for 2025
      • Increase the Mercy Rule threshold to 40 Points for Minors, Juniors B and C and Seniors B and C levels After investigation of a submitted complaint a $100 Fine will be levied for All violations payable within 7 Days of the violation ruling by the Executive Board.  Continued for 2025
      • GCBL will Continue to have the 1 and 1 shot at 7 fouls and 2 shots at 10+ fouls Continued for 2025

New Rule for 2025 . Three Point shots are allowed if the gym has a legal three point arc line in both Boys and Girls' Divisions at all levels. ( Rule 4.1.7  3point shots) A gym without a three point Arch line will count all field goals as 2 Points. 

 

Senior Boys A,B and C, Junior Boys A,B amd C will use the 29.5 Men's regulation basketball not the 28.5 ball. 

 

Minors boys and girls, Junior Girls and Senior girls use the 28.5 ball. ( WNBA Game Balls Are allowed)

 

Each town is expected to have a printed copy of the GCBL Rules at the scorer's table

No spectators or their family members are allowed to wander in the unsupervised areas of the schools or centers before during or after games. All facilities are monitored by cameras and video will be used to identify individuals who commit vandalism or theft.

 

2023 Rules Changes Motions

·       Tournament Senior Boys and Girls NCAA only 8 minute stop Clock. All other tournaments will be 10 Minute Running Clock. Motion was unanimously approved

·       Permanently adopt 3 Point Field goals for Junior and Senior Boys and Girls A and B Levels (gyms without 3 point line no 3 pointers allowed) Motion was unanimously approved

·       Increase the Mercy Rule threshold to 30 Points for Juniors and Seniors Motion was unanimously approved
