Spring Season
All Divisions
- Registration period is during February, leading up to evaluations and team selections in early March.
- Practices start a week later, after the first field prep date and coaches meeting.
- During the pre-season, teams normally get two practices per week, one on a weeknight and the other on the weekend.
- Once season games start, teams practice at the discretion of their coach. Golfmoor encourages all coaches to practice at least one day per week during the season for continued player development.
- Games start early April and go through late May.
- Games are played on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays with Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, & Sundays being reserved for practices and rain out make up dates.
- As a community based league, all coaches are volunteers. Please consider volunteering to Head Coach or Assist.
T-Ball
- An instructional league for 3 and 4 year olds.
- The very basic skills are introduced.
- This division uses the safety t-ball, which is soft and bounces more than traditional hard baseballs.
- Players hit off a tee.
- Outs and score are not kept.
- Infield size is 50 ft. base paths.
- The goal is 8 games (weather permitting).
- Teams are formed by taking into account special requests, as well as balancing age, gender, & skill level.
- No end of season tournament.
Note : Players are not evaluated for this division.
Shetland
- An instructional league for 5 and 6 year olds.
- 4-year-olds may opt to play up in this division, but must be evaluated by the Commissioner & Player Agent to determine if it is safe for them to play up.
- Fundamentals on throwing, hitting, base running, & defense are introduced.
- This division uses the safety t-ball, which is soft and bounces more than traditional hard baseballs.
- Coach pitch format-players get 5 live pitches & then can hit off the tee if the ball is not put into play.
- Outs and score are introduced at this division.
- Infield size is 50 ft. base paths.
- The goal is 10 games (weather permitting).
- Teams are formed by taking into account special requests, as well as balancing age, gender, & skill level.
- No end of season tournament.
Pinto
- A slightly more competitive league for players age 7 and 8.
- 6-year-olds may opt to play up in this division, but must attend evaluations for the Commissioner & Player Agent to verify it is safe for them to play up.
- USA Standard bat required.
- Traditional hard baseballs are used.
- Coach pitch format using a 3 strike / 5 pitch format resulting in a strike out if the ball is not put into play; no walks but coaches may determine if a pitch is "unhittable" resulting in another pitch.
- Outs and score are kept at this division.
- Infield size is 60 ft. base paths.
- The goal is 14 regular season games (weather permitting).
- This division has and end of season tournament. Single or double elimination format is decided each year by the Commissioner based on the number of teams, and number of rainouts.
- Teams are formed by a snake draft led by the Pinto Commissioner and Player Agent, in which the coaches select players using the evaluation results.
Minor
- A competitive league for players age 9 and 10.
- 8-year-olds may opt to play up in this division, but must attend evaluations for the Commissioner & Player Agent to verify it is safe for them to play up.
- USA Standard bat required.
- Traditional hard baseballs are used.
- Player pitch format.
- Infield size is 60 ft. base paths with 46 ft. pitching distance.
- Steals permitted, no lead offs / pick offs.
- The goal is 14 regular season games (weather permitting).
- This division has an end of season tournament. Single or double elimination format is decided each year by the Commissioner based on the number of teams, and number of rainouts.
- Teams are formed by a snake draft led by the Minor Commissioner and Player Agent, in which the coaches select players using the evaluation results.
Major
- A competitive league for players age 11 and 12.
- 10-year-olds may opt to play up in this division, but must attend evaluations for the Commissioner & Player Agent to verify it is safe for them to play up.
- Any legal bat can be used. This includes any bat certified by USA or USSSA, & any barrel diameter (2”, 2 ¼”, 2 ½”, 2 ⅝”, & 2 ¾”).
- Player pitch format.
- Infield size is 70 ft. base paths with 50 ft. pitching distance.
- Steals, lead offs, & pick offs permitted.
- The goal is 14 regular season games (weather permitting).
- This division has an end of season tournament. Single or double elimination format is decided each year by the Commissioner based on the number of teams, and number of rainouts.
- Teams are formed by a snake draft led by the Major Commissioner and Player Agent, in which the coaches select players using the evaluation results.
Pony
- A competitive league for players age 13 and 14.
- Teams play in the Evansville Rural Baseball League (ERBL).
- Teams will travel locally to the other ERBL locations.
- Player pitch format.
- Infield size is 80 ft. base paths with 54 ft. pitching distance.
- Steals permitted, with lead offs / pick offs.
- The goal is 12 regular season games (weather permitting).
- This division has an end of season tournament. Single or double elimination format is decided each year by the ERBL per the number of teams, and number of rainouts.
- This division does not have evaluations. Teams will be formed by the Commissioner based on the number of players, age, skill level, etc.
