Coach Corbett could not knock the effort that his team put forth in this tough game but he was truly displeased with the turnovers and the hurried - up offense displayed by a ball controlled team.
Size is not a factor when you play with heart, speed and the desire to win but you must believe in the Mt. Royal philosophy to win. Again this is but one game in a series of many to come and every one must learn to crawl before they can walk.
It was great to have so many of you come and show your support at the game last night on behalf of the entire 16 - under team we thank you for coming out. Team Captain (MD), I would like to thank you especially for coming over and pulling up the youngsters and let them know what it takes to be a champion.
We will continue to believe in our basic principle "Attitude Reflects Leader" and we have adopted the notion that “A family that plays together stays together" And” One that walks apart falls apart".

Charlie Weber Coach Corbett will host two teams in the tournament in the 15U age bracket and 16U age bracket. Practices will beheld on Thursday, September 6th from 6:30 - 8:30 and Saturdays, September 8th from 12 - 2:30 pm. Cost 40.00 dollars per player
Absent from last years league, we will place two teams in the fall league for those that are inerested it will cost 50.00 dollars per player to participate. 8 - 10 grade will play in the JV bracket while 11 - 12 will participate in the Varsity bracket. 15s played extremely well this past weekend at the University of Maryland in the Charlie Weber Fall Event. The team would come up short in the championship game against the GC/CIA team from Canada. Final score 53 - 46
(RJ, Kevin, DeAndre, Jarred, Eric, Mike, Jamar Williams, newcomers Keith Jackson and Cedric Jones)
Eagle Salute goes out to Keith Jackson who played with such passion, desire and fortitude to acquire a victory that he collapsed from both exhaustion and an asthma attack. When I say leave it on the floor this young man truly responded and left it all out on the floor. Welcome to the program sir, you have what it takes to be an EAGLE.
Kudos to Mike Cheatham, who was sidelined after our first game on Saturday with a hyper extend knee. Mike is resting and should be back in action shortly.
Cedric Johnson also re-injured his arm in the championship game and despite the pain attempt to struggle through for the team but was unable to finish. Another newcomer to the program this young man has also established his self as a leader, floor general and prototype Mt. Royal guard.
Rest up youngsters this weekend will bring a whole new line up of games but on a different level as we bump up in the 16-Under bracket in the Crab City Fall Classic.
The 16s would make it to the Semi Finals and come up short against the Pittsburgh Storm.

14-Under Summer Travel Try-Outs
OK here we go!
Although the snow canceled the Annual Super bowl Party, it did not stop the Pre-Season Coaches Meeting for the summer series.
We will kick off all try outs within the first two weeks of March, you may check back to this site or the Baltimore Nike Elite website(www.baltimorenikeelite.com) for dates and additional information.
Mt. Royal will sponsor teams in ages 12 - 17 for the states AAU tournament, however this does not mean that we will participate in the nationals. We are leaving in extremely difficult times and everyone once the best band for their buck which may mean doing high level weekend events, skill camps combine with the National Showcase events to generate more exposure for our players at a younger age then thats what will opt to do.
We will be meeting soon but feel free to weigh in with your opinion, use the guest book or email.
