LWF Baseball Association

Striving to be our Best

When the founders, over two decades ago, decided to create this association, they had no idea how big this would become. Only that it would be built on solid principles and a great vision.

Mission Statement;

LWF Minor Baseball will provide an affordable, enjoyable learning environment that promotes personal and skill development. Our organization will give every athlete the opportunity to learn the importance of teamwork, the virtues of character, and the respect for authority. We will provide learning opportunities for our volunteer coaches and umpires and develop their skills through certification.

Vision Statement;

LWF Minor Baseball believes organized baseball is more than the bats, balls, gloves and uniforms. We will provide the opportunity for all athletes to learn, play and enjoy their baseball experience regardless of their skill level, age, gender, disability or financial situation. We will always strive for the following;

  • To encourage, aid, and support acquisition of facilities and means for the playing of baseball.
  • Teach a sense of fair and honest competition.
  • Promote and celebrate the absolute highest ideals of fair play, good sportsmanship, respect and personal growth.
  • Teach and promote physical, mental, and moral development.
  • To encourage quality coaching at all levels providing the correct fundamentals of baseball, keys to avoiding unnecessary injury, while enabling each young athlete to develop and play the game to the best of their ability.

Our goals include:

 ·      Improve and add to our existing baseball fields and facilities.

 ·      Provide safe/protective equipment and environment.

 ·      LWF Minor Baseball supports Long Term Athlete Development and we believe Baseball Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is key to preventing unnecessary injury to our young athletes. One of our long term goals is to ensure all coaches learn, build on and instruct proper fundamentals at all levels.

 Help keep our young athletes safe. Register in Baseball Canada’s NCCP program today!

Letter from the President

LWF Minor Baseball is a program of “Service to Youth". We are the servants, and while we perform our duties with positional authority, we will always strive to do it with a servant's heart. It's their time now, the young athletes, not ours, and it’s both an honour and a privilege to be able to do this for them. This is the only perspective that I am willing to accept.

Perhaps one of these athletes may someday become a professional baseball player. Maybe another might return to us as a coach, or an umpire. Sadly, some may not even play baseball again after their minor ball, however, they will all surely dedicate themselves to bigger things. Some may grow up to one day serve their community, or their country. Maybe some will help find a cure for a rare disease, or invent something that helps save our environment. Perhaps some will go on to teach, run their own business, explore space, live out their dreams. Maybe some of their inspiration will start out on our ball fields. Many will grow up and raise their own families with hopes of giving their kids the same great experiences that they had - partly because of the countless hours our volunteers will put in this season -maybe because of a favorite coach, a mentor. This is why we are here. These young athletes, these reasons. And as long as baseball is their chosen game then I say we're all going to work hard to ensure we give them the best game that we possibly can.

This is why we are working very hard today, striving to be our best!
