Evolution Rules/Guidelines

General Information

AAU Rules and regulations

*All teams are required to check in with site director before thier first game

* All fees must be paid before first day of tourney,no later then 1st game

*Teams will not be permitted to play,unpaid,no EXCEPTIONS!

*No checks will be excepted at the door (cash/Money orders/cashiers checks only)

*2 - 1 minute timeouts and 1- 30 sec. per half

*1 & 1 free-throws on 7th team foul, 2 free throws on 10th

*Players may enter the lane of Freethrows ,on release of ball being shot

*Clock runs until last 2 minutes of 2nd half,if point spread is 20 points or below

*Clock stops for time outs,injuries,or official time.

*Only game official can stop running clock

*The only other person who can stop clock is the Tournament Director

* Technical fouls count as a personal and a team foul(no exceptions)

* 2 technicals by a player or coach,will result in ejection 

and banned for 1 game thereafter

* Unruly disrespectful fans,will result in a bench technical

*If a fight is to happen,we will look at the responsible team and its fans,and disqualify the offending team,and team and fans will be asked to leave

*Rosters must be turned in before 1st day of event(awards are based on rosters)

*Must have coaches names before wednesday of tournament start

*Any team in violation of any rules,will be disqualified with no refunds

*Players are not allowed to go between 2 teams or play in same division,(Ie. 5/6 division or 7/8th division,they are considered same divisions)

* Only 1 coach may approach the score keeper.if a fan or multiple coaches approaches,the team will be issued a technical

*If a team has 4 players at start of game,game can begin,it is a coaches decision to continue with 3 players,if one fouls out. Otherwise it is a forfeit

*ONCE brackets are final,no changes will be made,you must have your requests in before the monday before tournament start. If any changes must be made it is to the directors discretion,no other exceptions!

Evolution Specific rules

  1. All free throws are played on the release!!!
  2. Each player will be allowed a total of five (5) fouls before being disqualified.
  3. All games will be played in four (2) twenty (20) minute halves.
  4. The first overtime period will be two (2) minutes in length. The second overtime period will be one (1) minute in length. After two (2) overtimes, the third overtime will be SUDDEN DEATH. There will be one (1) thirty-second (30) timeout in overtime with no carryovers for each team.
  5. Teams will be allowed to call four (4) 1 min. timeouts and (2) thirty sec. timeouts during the regulation game (FOR OVERTIME SEE RULE #5).
  6. Teams will be allowed to call two (2)Full and 1 thirty second time-outs per half. Time outs do not carry over after 1st half.
  7. No game will begin before the time listed on the official game schedule.
  8. There will be a minimum of five (5) minute warm-up period between games.
  9. All teams are expected to arrive for games AT LEAST 45 minutes prior to schedule start times. A five minute grace period will be allowed before a forfeit is declared (unless the site director approves more time). If any team is knowingly unable to make their scheduled game, they must notify the Tournament Director in advance.
  10. Coaches must enter their team roster (number & last name at least) in the book before each game.
  11. Bonus (1 & 1) will begin on the 7th foul in a half. However, Fouls will reset every HALF.
  12. Fighting WILL NOT be tolerated. Players, coaches, or Parents involved will be removed from tourney. Please be advised that Tourney director will call Police and will ask you to leave the facility where the incident happens.
  13. Mercy Rule: If a team is up 20 points or more with three (4) minutes or less to play in regulation, the game will go to a running clock. If the game the lead is cut less than 20 points, the clock will stop again.
  14. Only two coaches on the bench.  This includes the head coach and assistant Coach.  

Player Eligibility 2018-2019

  1. KN9NE Evolutions Tournaments are Grade based(Winter),Age Based(Spring/Summer) and must meet the age-exception criteria.
  2. A player’s current age/grade will determine the division they are eligible to play in.
  3. Ineligible athletes will be a violation and will be disqualified from further participating.  (Eligibility may be determined below).
  4. A legible copy of birth certificate and report card is required for verification purposes.
  5. All formal protests will be reviewed by the tournament director, and their rulings will be final. If the protest is concerning age qualification, the protest must be raised PRIOR to the start of the game in question.
  6. A player may play in more than one division
  7. Any player found in violation of the age rule will be immediately suspended from the rest of the tournament, and the violating team will be given losses to all games that the violating player participated in.  
  8. Any coach, team, or player that is asked to leave the gym (This also includes anyone in their party) by a referee, Security, or Police officer will not get a refund.
 
 

2nd Grade/8U & under

A player must be in the 2nd grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 10 prior to September 1, 2019.

3rd Grade/9U & Under

A player must be in the 3rd grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 11 prior to September 1, 2019.

4th Grade/10U & Under

A player must be in the 4th grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 12 prior to September 1, 2019.

5th Grade/11U & Under

A player must be in the 5th grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 13 prior to September 1, 2019.

6th Grade/12U & Under

A player must be in the 6th grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 14 prior to September 1, 2019.

7th Grade/13U & Under

A player must be in the 7th grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 15 prior to September 1, 2019.

8th Grade/ 14U & Under

A player must be in the 8th grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 16 prior to September 1, 2019.

9th Grade/15U & Under

A player must be in the 9th grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 17 prior to September 1, 2019.

10th Grade/16 & Under

A player must be in the 10th grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 18 prior to September 1, 2019.

11th/12th Grade/17U & Under

A player must be in the 11th or 12th grade as of October 1, 2018 and cannot turn 20 prior to September 1, 2019.
