The team was coming off a 2 week break after a very busy May and June schedule A well rested Heat team came ready to play
Game 1 The NHB The team really didn't have any trouble with this team The boys were too fast and too big for this team We were able to force the tempo and create turnovers 65-33 HEAT
Game 2 Urbana Elite A We have matched up against this team in the past Urbana always makes us earn every win The Heat led most of the game Urbana was able to get within 4 points However the Heat pushed the lead to 10pts in the end 45-35 HEAT
Game 3 South River Shooters The boys played one of those games where everything went right The Shooters couldn't get anything going against our defense
With a 30-4 half time lead the Heat were in full control of this game We closed the day with a 46-19 win and a 3-0 record
Game 4 Urbana Elite B The Heat took care of business in quick order The boys played very well this game with great defense and shot blocking made this a good tune up for the championship game 50-30 HEAT
Game 5 Due to a scheduling change The team faced Coach Clark's Urbana Elite A This team is well coached and very disciplined We were unable to rattle their very poised point guard The Heat led most of the game but Urbana battled back to tie the game with less than 2 mins to go The Heat settled down and closed the game out with great work on the boards which created points in transition Heat wins the Championship and take a 9 game 2 tournament win streak to Hampton VA Nationals

The team hit the road very early and traveled to Lancaster Pa Where the boys competed in their 4th tournament in 5 weeks
Game 1 The Heat faced a big and solid Spooky Nook team out of Mannheim Pa This team was ready to play and didn't care the boys were on the road at 5:30am At one point the Spooky Nook team led by 12 The Heat finally began to put things together and turned up the defense to win the game
Game 2 The boys met a very sound SC Sonics team from State College Pa The Sonics played the Heat well with great ball movement However, at the end The Heat were too strong and still riding high with the energy from game 1 Both game all Heat players were 100% into the game from the bench as well as on the court
Game 3 The 2-0 Heat played the Northeast Spirit from Stroudsburg Pa This was the most intense game of the 3 The Heat missed their first 7 shots but their defense didn't allow the Spirit jump to a large lead Once the Heat settled into their game the shots began to fall and the defense created more turnovers This game was very physical with bodies on the court, several foul calls and even a fan of the Spirit was ejected from the gym Other than the ejection Great fan support from both teams made this the game to watch The Heat goes 3-0 earning the right to play in the Championship game
Championship game we faced the #1 seed from the B pool The SC Sonics The Sonics changed their game plan and decided to play the Heat more physically Which plays right to our game The boys never trailed in this game The Heat take the Tournament with a 4-0 record

The team played this tournament with only having half the team present And in true Heat fashion we continue to rise for any challenge
Game 1 We faced the Maryland Tar Heels The Heat were too big for the Heels to challenge us down low Heat wins
Game 2 We played a very solid and mature Maryland Rebel team First half the boys played well However, the second half turnovers and fatigue were the reasons for the loss in this game
Game 3 HEAT vs. Delmarva Saints This was a great game to watch The boys were down 12 at the half but were able to battle back with great defense to push the game into overtime Great free throw shooting by both teams pushed the game to it's second overtime The Heat eventually fell to the Saints by 1 point with 4 seconds left on the clock

The Heat traveled to the Lorton and Alexandria Virginia area Game 1 we played an up and coming Unfinished Business team This team just couldn't handle our inside presence Along with our defense made it difficult for UFB to get started Heat wins 53-23
Game 2 The VA Venom a D2 team from Williamsburg VA The Venom lead by 10 at the half The Heat was able to rally back but were edged out by 1 points 55-56
Sunday action the boys were able to bounce back in true HEAT fashion Making quick work of the Alexandria Kings 65.41 The highlight of the games was Dalante "DA" Simmons getting his very first dunk in live action
Game 4 semi-finals the Heat matched up with the 3-0 Chantilly Stars The boys never allowed the Stars in the game easily winning the game 76-57 and advancing to the Championship game

The Heat takes 2nd Place 2013 Battle of NOVA
The boys traveled to Northern Virgina to face the VA Elite A very solid team This team played very well in the second half but in the end the HEAT had a no plans to lose game one and put this team away Game 2 we faced thee ABGC Bulldogs The Bulldogs were no match for our size and quickness The Heat won this game fairly easily Game 3 paired us up against the host team the NOVA Cavaliers in the semi finals game the HEAT took full control of the 1st half The 2nd half the HEAT allowed the Cavs to mount a comeback but in the end the Heat were too strong and put an end to the Cav's comeback The Championship game the HEAT tipped it up against the Gainsville Elite A team we faced in the past quarterfinal play in Hampton VA
Both team played great ball in the 1st half The 2nd half the Elite went on a run the Heat couldn't match Poor second half shooting and missed free throws ended our hopes of taking the championship

Game 1 The boys played a very talented Baltimore Nike Elite team The Heat created too many turnovers to remain competitive in this game
Game 2 The boys played a great game against Beacon House A team the boys played 2 years prior This year we took the win with great defense and rebounding
Game 3 The boys matched up against The Maryland Panthers with the winner moving on to bracket play The Heat took the win with smart team play down the wire
Game 4 The team were not able to get things started against the PG Bulls They boys were played flat, created turnovers and poor shooting , will always make it difficult to win games The team ended the weekend with a 2-2 record

Game 1 Randallstown running Rebels were no match for the Heat's defense We were able to win this game fairly easily Next up Ft Washington Elite The heat took full control of the first half Ft. Washington rallied back in the second half to win the game at the free throw line This was a great test for the team Game 3 We took the win against Coach K's Maryland Flames team We have faced this team many times and they always come prepared to play Game 4 for 3place honors We played the St. Mary's Maryland Dream After a very sluggish first half The boys were able to control the boards and score in transition to put the game out of reach We ended the tournament 3-1 earning a bid to the 2013 AYBA Nationals in North Carolina

The team opened the tournament with 40pt win over White Oak. Game 2 (DC Devils) the boys allow a 15pt halftime lead to slip away The team eventually lost the game by 2 Game 3 (Annandale Bulldogs) the team played catch up the entire game We rallied at the end, cutting the lead to 3pts However a few key turnovers put an end of our hopes of advancing The boys learned a lot about the game of basketball this tournament. The boys will bounce back

The team hit the road for Akron Ohio We witnessed basketball being played at the highest level We ended our trip with a 3-3 record Losing in the bronze bracket Semi-final round against the Ohio Sting The trip proved to be a great learning experience for the team

The team traveled back to West Virginia hoping to improve on the last tournament performance With only 6 players the boys were able to chalk up wins against West Va Warriors and Team Chambersburg Sunday action , Still not having a full team the boys captured the win against the VA Fighting Eagles Winning Pool play with a 3-0 record Later in the day a very flat Heat team fell to the Frederick NetMasters Ending the tournament 3-1

The boys take 5th place out of 11 great teams Game 1 The Heat faced the IBA team out of Frederick Maryland The game was close until the 2nd half, where the boys took control and eventually winning by 20 Game 2 we faced a scrappy WVA Hoop Starz team Great shooting kept this team in the game The Heat again took over with great defense and once again winning by 20+ Game 3 The Heat matched up against VA Team Takeover with the winner earning the right to play The Maryland Team Takeover The VA takeover just edged out the Heat by 4

2012 Maryland Flames Fall League
This season was the first time these young men played together on the same court as a unit. The beginning of the season the team had to learn how to play together and in some cases they were asked to play new positions By the end of the season the boys were in sync, winning 4 out of 5 with a 4 game win streak

The Hardknocks were seeded 4th and faced the #1 seed College Park Express from Georgia The took control from the tip and made easy work of this team Game 2 we faced the MABC from Boston The boys again never allowed this team in the game Game 3 was one of the best games played by this team This game was the the game you hated to see a team lose with a 9:45 tip off and 2 overtimes The Hardknocks were finally able to put this New York team away
After an emotionally charged game 3 the boys didn't have enough in the tank to win our 1st game in bracket play We were very disappointed with the early exit but, we were very pleased with another successful season

June 17, 2012 This is lucky # 7 for the 2012 AAU season The boys are really playing well together With all focus being on Nationals The team opened up with a championship winning D2 VYB Barons team The Hardknocks had no trouble getting passed this team Defense and strong inside play were the keys to victory Game two the boys faced the Urbana Elite again the smothering defense allowed the team to convert turn-overs into easy transition points The win put us at the top of the pool With a game 3 win The Hardknocks would be crowned champs

Game 4 - was the most exciting game of the tourney! HK vs. Team Swag. This game took a total team effort. as 3 starters fouled out early in the 2nd half The Hardknocks then allowed a 15 point lead to slip away but at the end they were able to steal the win with a buzzer beater The Championship match up against CLW proved to be a good test for the team. Both teams battled until the Hardknocks took the lead in quarter # 2 and never looked back, resulting in a 15 point win This was our most significant tournament Championship to date

May 20, 2012 --Another good showing for the boys. Game 1 we faced our DQT foes Beyond the Hoops .This time it didn't take overtime for the boys to take the win. Game 2, the boys matched up against a very tough VA Elite team. Our poor shooting and fatigue contributed to the game 2 loss. Sunday, game 3 action, the team bounced back with fresh legs by never allowing the Mid Atlantic Select team in the game. The boys are peeking at the right time.

May 5, 2012 Friday night Game 1 - The boys were unstoppable! great defense and shooting over 75% from the floor were the keys to victory. Saturday morning Game 2 The team did not bring their " A " game. They played flat and lacked intensity resulting in a 10point loss.
Saturday afternoon, game 3 was an absolute thriller against the pool leading 2-0 team! This was an up and down game that needed an overtime to determine the winner. Our boys won the overtime game setting up a 3way tie for 1st place in our 4 team pool. After careful calculation the Hardknocks did not advance to bracket play. We were ousted based on points.
We will continue to play, and play hard, as we prepare for Nationals

April 29, 2012 The team finished the month of April with another championship. The team traveled to St. Albans in Washington DC for the Big Shots DC Tournament. Game 1 the team faced The NSBC Souldiers. The Hardknocks took care of business early in this match up. Next up, Team Takeover. This Takeover team boasts 4 nationally ranked players. The Hardknocks experienced D1 basketball at its best. The loss sent the team to the silver bracket championship game. There we faced another HK vs HK match up. The game was a great work out for both team as we all prepare for other high level tournaments.

Sending the boys to the championship game against Crusader Nation The Hardknocks fought as hard as they could but were ultimately unable to handle the size and quickness of the Crusaders

March 24, 2012 — 2012 HC-ELITE CHAMPS!!
This weekend found the boys in Ellicott City Md for the HC-Elite Tournament The Hardknocks faced the home team HC-Elite 13u's The Hardknocks suffered a heartbreaking 1 point loss with 2 seconds left on the clock! The team bounced back and won their 2nd pool play game. That win seeded the Hardknocks 4th out of 7 for the Sunday bracket play games. Sunday’s first game the Hardknocks rolled passed the # 5 seed which set up the re-match against the # 1 seed HC- Elite in the semi-finals!! This game was just as intense as the first meeting ! The teams went back and forth with several lead changes until finally, the Hardknocks took the lead and held on in the final minutes to a victory and earning the right to move on to the championship round!! In that game our smothering defense pounded the other team and earned our boys their 3rd championship in March!!! We thank the HC-Elite staff for holding a great tournament

March 17, 2012 — The boys were invited to participate in the 8th grade division of the VCCI Soaring Eagles Tournament The team was more than ready to meet the challenge Again team defense was key to helping win games. Some key defensive adjustments by Coach Gonzo helped the team get to the championship game and then, ultimately to winning the tournament. Total team effort was vital in our success. The coaching staff and management are very pleased with our team’s progress. We thank the VCCI staff for hosting a well organized and well supported event

March 14, 2012 COACH WHITE 13-U 2011-2012 MONTGOMERY COUNTY AAU RISING STAR CHAMPS!
March 14, 2012 — Our team of very dedicated and talented young men took their lumps this season competing in the Rising Star 8th grade AAU "A" bracket league. They finished the regular season with a convincing win and then were placed in the B bracket for the playoffs. We easily won our 1st playoff game and then narrowly won our 2nd playoff game placing us in the Championship. Hardknocks 13U Coach White's team matched up against the Bethesda Magic for the championship. At times it seemed the Hardknocks had the game locked up. The Magic rallied back and kept it close till the end with a final win going to the Hardknocks!! The coaching staff and the parents are very proud of our team and their NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE!!

March 14, 2012 — Our team of very dedicated and talented young men took their lumps this season competing in the Rising Star 8th grade AAU "A" bracket league. November 27, 2011 — In the 13u Championship round the Cardinal (VA) basketball program had the Hardknocks-Cisco on the heels in the beginning of the first half. Both teams played pressure defense but Coach Ciso who doesn't take losing as an option rallied his team to a comeback victory with outstanding play from his whole team and with a great game performance by Point Guard MVP Michael Winterburn #30, who was the captain and coach on the floor. Great job by both coaches

Friday night the team did not play their best and still grabbed a win over the Orlando team. The win pitted the Hardknocks against the # 2 Duke team for the BCWB 2011 Championship. The Hardknocks came out in the championship game ready to play tough Hardknocks defense. A mix of different defensive sets were successful in keeping the Duke team on their heels the entire game resulting in the Hardknocks victory. Our Hardknocks team, mostly 7th graders, competed in the 8th grade division and suffered only one loss against a 10th grade team. Ending the season with a record of 7-1 and the Championship!!
