WHITEFISH -- Two weeks before state cross-country meets begin in Great Falls, the Frenchtown boys and Whitefish girls excelled in one of their final tune ups.

Frenchtown put five runners in the top 15 to edge Thompson Falls 45-53 on Saturday morning. 

The Broncs were led by Jaden Rowe, whose time of 17 minutes, 2 seconds was good enough for second. He was followed by teammate Block Rugg just one second behind in third. 

Frank Dean was 11th for Frenchtown. He was joined in the top 15 by Anders Holmquist in 14th and Casey Jones in 15th. 

Thompson Falls put four in the top 15, led by Dan McDonald and Justin Gustafson in sixth and seventh. 

Ronan was third with three in the top 15. Jackson Duffey was fifth with a time of 17:30. Fellow Chiefs Nathan Dennis and Daniel Koehler were 12th and 13th respectively.

Whitfish scored a win with a team total of 27. Led by second-place finisher Barrett Gray, all five Bulldogs were in the top 13; Sarah Perez was fifth, Braya Hobson was sixth, Laurel Davidson was 10th and Annika Gordon crossed the line in 13th. 

Plains' Kimberly Earhart won the race in 19:28. Teammate Demi Horton was third.
