REBELS' BATS COME ALIVE TO WIN FIRST GAME OF 2019 12-2

The first win of 2019 was an impressive 12-2 win over the Ft Worth Sharks that saw the FW Rebels bang out 14 hits. Jace Franke led the way going 2-2 with 2 triples and 2RBI while Jon Doko added a double, triple and 2 RBI as well.  Jackson Jordan started on the hill and was the winning pitcher allowing 1 earned run over his 2 innings of work while striking out 4.

Christopher Calabrese got everything started in the first inning with a booming leadoff double over the left fielder's head.  Jack Dalton followed with an RBI single.  After Dalton stole 2nd, Drew Horstman singled him home.  Evan Smith added an RBI single that scored Horstman to make it 3-0.  Doko kept the rally going with a deep fly to left that the right fielder couldn't handle for an RBI triple.  Doko them scored on an errant pickoff attempt at 3rd to make it 5-0.  With 1 out. Karson Symonds reached on an infield single.  Then with 2 outs, Jace Franke crushed a fast ball for a triple to left center and the Rebels were up 6-0 after 1.

The Rebels, who were up 6-1 heading to the bottm of the 3rd, added 5 more runs that inning.  Doko led off with a walk and pinch runner Smith stole 2nd.  Jordan then laced a line drive single to right to make it 7-1. Symonds grounded to second moving Jordan into scoring position.  Quentin Enos followed with an infield single that knocked in Jordan.  This set the stage for Franke who added another RBI triple almost in the identical spot as the first.  Will Adams single home Franke to make it 10-1.  After Adams stole second, Evan Swindell hit a grounder to second and was thrown out at first but the hustling Adams came all the way home to score.

Doko & Hortsman finished things up on the mound for the Rebels who are now 1-1 on the young season.
