REBELS 11-GAME WINNING STREAK ENDS TO NTX BULLS 12U AAA

April 3, 2019

The FW Rebels impressive 11-game winning streak came to an end Tuesday at the hands of the NTX Bulls 12U AAA.  It was the second game this season the Rebels have lost and both losses have come against teams in a higher classification.  This game though featured a furious last inning comeback that had to have left the Rebels feeling good about themselves afterwards.

Down 6-2 heading to the top of the last inning, the Rebels scored four runs, all with two out.  Things got started as Will Adams walked with one out, and Jace Franke walked with two outs.  Up stepped Jack Dalton to the plate who had an incredible seven-pitch at bat that resulted in a two-run triple that was blasted up the right center field ally to cut the score to 6-4.  With Evan Smith at the plate, Dalton hustled home on a wild pitch to make it 6-5. With a 3-1 count, Smith crushed a deep towering fly to right field that cleared the fence to tie the game up at 6.

The Bulls were able to scratch across a run in the bottom of the last inning on a sacrifice fly to center to win 7-6.  Still, the Rebels "never say die" attitude was on fall display once again.  The Rebels are now 11-2 on the season as they head to tournament play this weekend.
