FW REBELS' LEFT FIELDER EVAN SWINDELL FOULS ONE BACK DURING THE REBELS 9-8 LOSS TO NTX EXTREME
The FW Rebels busted out of the gate and claimed a 7-1 lead over Ntx Extreme but they couldn't hold the lead and lost 9-8 on a 5th inning walk off. The Rebels allowed 5 unearned runs that enabled Extreme to get back into, and eventually win the game.
Things started out great for the Rebels as Jace Franke & Jack Dalton hit back to back doubles to open the game. Evan Smith followed with an infield single and cleanup hitter Jackson Jordan singled in two to make it 3-0. Drew Horstman singled sending Jordan to 3rd. Jordan then scored on a balk to make it 4-0. Quentin Enos hit a sacrifice fly to center later in the inning to score Horstman and it was 5-0.
The Rebels tacked on two more in the 2nd. Jace Franke walked with one out and scored on an RBI single by Jack Dalton. With two outs, Dalton scored on a balk to make the score 7-1. The Rebels only would score one more run the rest of that game, all thanks to Franke who doubled with one out in the 4th, went to 3rd on a wild pitch, and scored on yet another wild pitch.
Although the Rebels allowed 5 unearned runs on 4 errors, there were some defensive highlights in the game. Jack Dalton made an incredible relay throw to Quentin Enos at the plate to cut down a run ending the 3rd inning. Enos also had two consecutive pickoffs in the 5th inning, but the second time, the runner was called safe which was unsuccessfully disputed by the Rebels. That run would then score the winning run.
