The FW Rebels couldn't hang on to a 5-2 lead and were soundly defeated 11-5 to force a winner-take-all RYA Championship game next week vs Ntx Extreme. Extreme was able to score 2 runs in the 3rd and 7 in the 4th while shutting the Rebels bats down to win 11-5.
The game started out on a positive note as Jace Franke opened the game with a walk and with one out, Evan Smith singled him to 3rd. Cleanup hitter Jackson Jordan smacked an RBI single to left to make it 1-0. Drew Horstman followed with a Sacrifice Fly to score Smith to make it 2-0. Jordan, with heads up base-running tacked on a 3rd run following a wild pitch to make it 3-0. Extreme scored 2 in the first, all with 2 outs. In the top of the 2nd inning, Will Adams hit an RBI ground out to score Quentin Enos who had doubled to lead off the inning. The Rebels final run occurred in the top of the 3rd when Jack Dalton scored on an Evan Smith RBI single.
Still, Extreme rallied for 9 runs in the final two innings on 9 hits and were aided by 5 Rebel errors.
This sets up a 3rd and decisive game 3 next week vs Extreme for the RYA Premiere Championship.
