Yo Kiddos! Harley Davidson Reaches Pinnacle - Topples Suzuki in the Finals

September 22, 2019

MJCC was buzzing soon as the doors were opened. Cars trickled in as parking spaces dwindle.  And few were setting up sound equipment while others fiddled with their own video recorders. It's no mistaken, last Friday night will be a memorable evening.

Kidsworld took the stage early as LL kiddos donned uniforms and ran on the same hardwood as their fathers in a first ever exhibition game.  Bagets vs. Gwapings provided a glimpse of LL's next generation. Great special thank you to the fathers whom had allocated their sons to participate, an opportunity whom we've heard afterwards as something the kids had enjoyed,  Yep, we the audience had enjoyed as well.  Thank you for being an awesome sport.

Well eventually prime time came around to decide our S39 Reflection champs.  What a game it was between defending champ and #1 seed Suzuki versing  against #3 Harley Davidson. As you would expect, this has become as a defensive game.  Harley, right out of the gates, decided for a man-up defense which helped catapulted them to a 14-2 lead but midway in the 1st half, they switched to zone but Suzuki found holes in the scheme with Bogart Suarez knocking down four (4) consecutive treys to give Suzuki their first lead 21-20. When Harley finally realized what hit them, they've switched back to what was working early for them and controlled the 2nd half. And along the way took the sizzle out of the rest of the game as they held Suzuki's key offensive players, Merrick Lim, Edward Garcia and Oliver Dinglasan to 1 FG for the whole game!

Harley Davidson wins 43-28 to the delight of Hector Gatchalian as he secures his 10th trophy.  Rest up and let's do it again in October.
