Union lineman Josh Clark came into the football season with varsity experience under his belt. That helped him to take his game to another level in the trenches as a junior while pushing the Knights to the Class 3A title.
"There were so many good things about my junior season. After we won (State), the emotions were going. Leading up to it, I didn't blow it up like we were playing in the State championship game."

Clark admitted that what this team went through early helped them make a push through the postseason.

"Last year, we went into the playoffs a little confident being undefeated. We had never been through any adversity or trouble going through the season. This year, we had trouble early and I felt we were battle tested. We had gone through the hard stuff and started playing great at the right time."

There is a certain part of Clark's game that he wants to get better at during the off-season.

"I want to put on a little weight and work on my agility. I can overpower just about everyone I play against but some guys would slip by me using their quickness. I want to improve my quickness side to side."

Clark has his sights now set on a big season of wrestling.

"Our wrestling team will do pretty good this year. I think I can place in the top three at heavyweight this year."

A few college coaches have been showing Clark early attention.

"My first letter was from UNI. I went with Trev (Hadchek) to Iowa State. Illinois has been sending me some stuff and I got a letter from Nebraska."

Clark named one college program that he has followed since he was younger.

"I always kind of liked Nebraska because their home games are always so crazy."
