Online Level I and II Umpire Clinics

Baseball NL is in the final stages of coordinating the online components needed for Level I and II umpire training for the 2020 season. Participants interested in either the Level I or II course need to register online as they did last year so Baseball NL will have an idea of who the material needs to be sent to. This is to avoid distributing the material unnecessarily.

Online forms for Level I and II courses are now activated on the Baseball NL website (under the “Register Online” section on the right-hand side of the website). Registration for both courses will run until May 29th. Upon registration closing, more information will be sent to those that have registered, including information on how to access the online material. Registrants will then be expected to complete the work by a date yet to be determined (sometime in early or mid-June), and will also be expected to join a one-hour Zoom call where our NL Umpire Clinicians will be available for Q and A. Please understand that under this model, this is SELF-DRIVEN work. All participants will be expected to have ALL MATERIAL completed so they are able to contribute and learn effectively during the Zoom Q and A. Anyone without material completed, or choosing to not attend the Zoom call Q and A (without a legitimate reason) will not be given credit for completing the course.

Registration fee includes a 2020 rulebook, Baseball NL umpire hat, and access to the online platform containing the material (again – more information will be sent on this after the May 29th registration deadline).

Given the COVID-19 situation, some supplies have not yet been ordered for the 2020 season. Namely this would mean the umpire hats. Baseball NL does have some in stock, and will be ordering the additional hats needed once we get a better sense of interest and registration. Please understand that if you do not get a hat right away you will get a hat as soon as the new shipment arrives. Hats will be shipped to your local association where they will be available for pickup.
