Game 1

FW Rebels 6

BN Texas HSP 4

FW Rebels can hold their heads high with the knowledge that they were the only team to defeat BN Texas HSP who went on to win the tournament championship.  The story of this game was the complete game victory for starter Coleman Peck.  Peck tossed 5 innings allowing just 2 earned runs scattering 4 hits while walking 3.  He was in control the entire game and pitched around some defensive miscues.  After falling behind 1-0 in the first, the Rebels plated 4 in the bottom of the inning.  Jace Franke singled to leadoff.  Evan Smith then walked and Wyatt Baccus singled.  Brady Franz lined a 2-run single to left to make it 2-1. Quentin Enos added an RBI ground out and Charger Nguyen clutched up for a 2-out RBI single to right. BN Texas HSP scored solo runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings to tie the game at 4.  Peck through a scoreless 5th inning and the Rebels came to the plate needing just a run to win.  Franke leadoff by being hit by a pitch.  Evan Smith singled Franke to 3rd.  After Smith stole 2nd, BN Texas decided to intentionally walk Baccus.  Brady Franz once again lined a single to left to score two runs to make it 6-4.  BN Texas then went to change pitchers which ended the game due to the time limit.

Game 2

Rockwall Expos 14

FW Rebels 2

The second game of pool play, the Rebel bats went silent to start out.  Rebel starter Wyatt Baccus battled through two innings of work and allowed 3 runs.  It took three Rebel pitchers to get through the 3rd inning when the Expos scored 11 runs.  Wyatt Baccus and Brady Franz hit back to back sacrifice flies to get the Rebels on the board but that was all that she wrote in a 14-2 defeat.

The Rebels were the visitors and wasted little time getting on the scoreboard.  With one out, Evan Smith singled and scored on a Wyatt Baccus double off of the left field fence.  Two more Rebel runs scored on wild pitches to make it 3-0.  Brady Franz started on the hill for the Rebels and didn't allow any runs in the 1st.  Evan Smith hit a 2-out double in the 2nd scoring Christopher Calabrese to make it 4-0.  Wyatt Baccus singled in Smith and Quentin Enos singled home Baccus.  After Dallas Tigers Orange scored 2 runs in the 2nd, it was 6-2 heading to the 4th.  After Evan Swindell grounded to SS to open the inning, Jace Franke blasted a solo Home Run deep over the centerfield fence to make it 7-2.  After Evan Smith lined out to SS, Wyatt Baccus singled for his 3rd hit of the game.  Brady Franz followed with a towering Home Run to deep left center making it 9-3.  Coleman Peck, Charlie Rusk, & Christopher Calabrese all singled to open the 5th.  This enabled the Rebels to tack on 5 more runs.  Charger Nguyen tossed 2 scoreless innings of relief to shut down Dallas Tigers and win 14-2.

Game 4

Rockwall Expos 17

FW Rebels 8

The visiting Rebels got on the board first.  Evan Smith crushed a 1-out double followed by a Wyatt Baccus walk.  Smith scored on a fielders choice grounder from Brady Franz.  It was Franz's 10th RBI of the tournament.  Quentin Enos followed with a deep 2-run HR over the right center field fence to take a 3-0 lead.  Rebel pitchers had a difficult time finding the strike zone in the first and gave up 6 runs to fall behind 6-3. After 3 innings it was then 10-3.  Still, the Rebels fought to get back into the game in the top of the 4th.  Quentin Enos singled to open the frame.  With one out, Coleman Peck singled to center.  Charlie Rusk then walked to fill the bases.  Christopher Calabrese was hit by a pitch to make it 10-4.  Evan Swindell and Jace Franke then both walked to make it 10-6.  Evan Smith hit a deep fly to left center that was caught and Calabrese scored to make it 10-7.  That's all the Rebels would score.  The Expos sent 11 batters to the plate in the 4th and scored 7 runs on just 4 hits to put the game away.
