ILLNESS & COVID PROTOCOL

(HLL Player Screening/Health Guidelines)

  •      Parents should perform a quick health screening prior to attending all practices/games to ensure that their child is not showing any signs of illness (flu, strep throat, COVID-19, and other ailments).

  •      Any players that have a fever of 100.4° or above and/or other signs of suspected illness are not permitted to attend any baseball related events; including, but not limited, to the following: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, stomachache, diarrhea, or headaches.

  • Players will be immediately sent home if they report and/or display any signs of illness while at practice/games - NO EXCEPTIONS

  •      If anyone in your immediate household is showing signs or symptoms of COVID-19, and/or has tested positive for COVID-19, your child is NOT permitted to attend any Little League sponsored events without further conversation/notice. Situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis. In this case, please contact your team manager and an administrator in the Little League program to discuss/formulate a plan.

  •      Players must be completely fever-free, without the use of over-the-counter medicine for at least 48 hours when in attendance.

  •      Any player who has experienced direct exposure with someone who has fallen ill to COVID-19has tested positive for COVID-19, and/or has been presenting any symptoms of COVID-19/illness must NOT attend any related baseball events for an approximate 10 – 14 day period (the plan/timeframe will be determined at the discretion and in consultation with the City of Hoboken/Health Department and other universal rules at the timing of the siutation). A plan of action will follow the guidelines set forth by the NJ Department of Health/Hoboken Department of Health and may vary based on the nature of exposure/circumstances). In such circumstances, the participant is required to immediately reach out to their team manager and/or an administrator in the Little League via email to confidentially share the date of exposure and to discuss/formulate a plan of action.

  • When an epidemic/pandemic such as COVID-19 is taking place the league will notify parents of the following plan: In such instance, parents will be required to complete the brief health screening on the TeamSnap "app" prior to attending all practices AND games; when this action has been taken into effect, the requirements should be completed on the day of each practice/game. In this siutation, coaches will be monitoring the "app" for updates on a daily basis prior to/during events.

  • For all COVID testing scenarios during a pandemic, please note that the Hoboken Little League requires that players receive a PCR test (in other words, a rapid test and/or any other format will not be accepted). This plan may be adjusted to meet current standards/guidelines and will be based upon the city/state guidelines at the time of the event.
