What is the Tri-Point Football League?

The Tri-Point Football League is an adult, full contact football league that has teams in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Tri-Point was founded in the fall of 2021 with the goal to provide competitive balance within our area. All of the league board members are also owners or representatives of teams within Tri-Point. Many of which have been long standing, established teams within the Ohio/PA semi-pro circle.

                What is “semi-pro football”?

Semi-pro football is commonly called: “Developmental”,” Minor League Football”, “Amateur Football”, “Recreational football”, and sometimes “Free Football” (although that is extremely misinformed). Typically teams are formed as non-profit organizations. These organizations basically all have the same goal… to keep playing beyond what many assume is the last opportunity to play organized football. Rosters are made up of players with every level of experience. Some players may be climbing off the couch to get back into shape. Some may have aspirations of getting attention or film for college ball opportunities. Others are chasing the ultimate goal of a pro contract. Ultimately, they are all simply keeping their love of the game alive.

                What exactly does “Tri-Point” mean?

As mentioned above, the Tri-Point Football League is made up of teams from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Those three states come together at a location along the Ohio River. Located at coordinates ( N 40° 38.367 W 080° 31.140 ). The tri-point of these three states was named the “Point of Beginning” in what would eventually be the starting point in a land survey west as our nation expanded in the 1700s.
