2022 Keystone Division Champions

The Pittsburgh Saints will be the first Tri-Point Football League Keystone Division Champions. Owner Sandy Tipton and Head Coach Mel Lewis lead one of the leagues “flagship” teams to the number two seed going into the playoffs. Along with home field advantage, the Saints will also have a bye week for the August 6th first round of the Inaugural Trip-Point Playoffs.

The Saints began the 2022 season by jumping straight into the fire in the preseason versus two outside-league powerhouses.. the Akron Pitbulls and the Erie Express. Although they ran that gauntlet without getting a win, they showed that they were maybe just a peace away against the Pitbulls and nearly walked away with a victory over the Express.

The Saints started into the regular season confident after the preseason gave them a glimpse of how good they could be. After the first few weeks Ms Tipton made an adjustment to the staff and promoted Savon Tipton to the Offensive Coordinator spot. They rolled through week 7 of the regular season with their only loss coming in week 2 versus the Gladiators. Week 8 had the Saints set to faced-off against the Greensburg Golden Hawks with both teams going into the game with a 6-1 record and the division title on the line. After a tough defensive game, the Saints came away with the win over their rival from down the highway. Pittsburgh finished the season with a 7-1 record and are set to play the Steel Valley Truth in the second round of the playoffs on August 13th.

“It’s a great accomplishment because of how we ended last season, but the goal for ’22 has not been accomplished yet.. and that’s getting to the championship” – Pittsburgh Saints owner, Sandy Tipton.
