PA Lightning takes 1st Place in the Fire Fastpitch Battle in the Burg Tournament

PA Lightning caps off their 2023-24 season with a 1st Place Finish in the Fire Fastpitch Battle in the Burg Softball Tournament.  The girls battled hard all weekend as they went a perfect 3-0 during Saturday pool play against tough competition.  They came to play on Sunday as well as they played 3 back-to-back games and withstood the heat to take home the championship.  The first bracket game was a hard fought win against a very good Sandlot team where runs were hard to come by.  PA Lightning held on to a 2-1 victory as time expired.  They then faced Ohio Quakes in the semifinals and came away with another tough vicory 6-3.  Heading into the 4th inning of the Championship game against a very good Thunder Elite team, PA Lightning Lightning was down 1-0.  The bats came alive as they struck for 3, 1, and 4 runs respectively over the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings to bring home an amazing 8-1 victory in the championship game.  The girls played impressive softball all weekend with their outstanding defense, impressive offensive display each game when it mattered most, and excellent pitching performances.  It was truly a "team" championship victory......Way to go girls.....we are so proud of all you have accomplished.
