- The fall program is an "extension" of the spring season (2024) and is only available to returning/registered players from that time
- Open to all registered HLL baseball players with a baseball age of 8 - 11 years old who participated in the Minor League and Major League during the 2024 spring season.
- Baseball ages for the fall season remain the same and are based on the 2024 spring season (E.g., If your child was a baseball aged 11 in the spring, he/she will remain that SAME AGE for the upcoming fall season)
- The program is intended to be instructional, less competitive than the spring, and FUN!
- While an important goal of the program is to have fun and connect with peers within the local community, it will primarily serve to provide players with an opportunity to further develop their skills, gain additional "reps", and prepare for the upcoming spring season
- Coaches are expected to instruct, teach, model, encourage continued growth, and foster a fondness for baseball
- The main goal of the season is "development" and NOT "winning"
- The program will attempt to provide returning players the chance to work with their current teammates/peers (whenever possible), further build camaraderie, strengthen various positions, and practice new/primary positions on the field without pressure
- The program also offers players who are contemplating "moving up" to the next level/division in the upcoming spring season (2025) the opportunity to prepare and get their "feet wet" before the mandatory spring tryouts, and in that case, "sample" the more advanced level of play. That said, players will have the chance to experience playing baseball at the next level in a safe, learning atmosphere and within a less intense environment to help determine the right fit for the next spring season.
- The program will run for approximately 6 weeks - TBD
- Preseason Practices: Week of September 9th (Monday - Wednesday)
- Start Date (Games): Monday, September 16th
- End Date: October 23rd
- Weeknights only; no weekends
- Games will take place on Mondays - Wednesdays (teams play once a week)
- No regular practices except for possible pregame warmup in the cages an hour before each game
- No playoffs/championship games
- The final plans/schedule will be dependent upon the enrollment data - TBD
- Baseball Glove (required)
- Baseball Bat (required)
- Helmet (recommended); helmets will be available to borrow as needed
- Catchers should bring their gear/equipment/gloves (recommended)
*Players should wear comfortable, athletic clothing including a shirt in the assigned team color, their favorite baseball cap, and baseball pants/sweatpants; NO shorts or skirts permitted
*Players will NOT receive new uniforms (teams will receive instructions about colors/garb to wear at the time of team assignments)
*Players will need to purchase their pair of baseball pants for the season (color will be determined by team manager and flexible - typically gray or white - TBD)
*Molded / turf cleats are acceptable; NO metal cleats are permitted
*Players are highly encouraged to wear a pitching/heart guard for safety and to prepare for the ever-changing game scenarios; you never know when your child will be placed on the mound, especially in the fall season
*Pitchers are required to wear a pitching/heart guard - NO exceptions
*All male catchers are required to wear an athletic cup and must have a throat guard on their helmet when catching - NO exceptions
Baseball Divisions for Fall Season:
-
- All registered, drafted, and returning players baseball aged 8 - 11 who participated in the Minor League program during the spring season (2024) who likely plan to return to that division in the 2025 spring season
-
- All registered, drafted, and returning players (baseball aged 9 - 11) who participated in the Major League program during the 2024 spring season or were eligible to try out for the 2024 spring season even if he/she did not participate
- Primarily consists of players baseball aged 10 - 11 and higher level/skilled 9-year-olds
- Divisional placement for fall programming in the Major League is based on "player eligibility" during the last spring season tryout (2024). In other words, if your child was eligible to try out for the Major League (ages 9+) during the spring (of 2024), he/she can still participate in the next level up for the fall season even if he/she has not already played in that division.
- Coach Pitch players (baseball aged "7") and Minor Juniors during the 2024 spring season are NOT eligible to participate in the fall season
- Players that recently graduated from the Major League program this spring season (the former "12's"/rising "13's") or older are NOT eligible to participate (The “cut off” date is August 31st; if your child’s birth date falls between 9/1/11 - 8/31/12, they are no longer eligible to play in the Major League division
- When applicable, all efforts will be made to pair managers/coaches/players with their former/returning players from the spring season (2024). However, there are NO guarantees as it will be based on enrollment data/numbers, team composition, as well as player skills/experience and positional needs across teams.
- If your child is "moving up" to the next division for the fall ball season, he/she will NOT automatically be paired with former teammates from the spring. For example, if he/she played in the Minor League in the spring (2024) and will be moving into the Major League for the fall season, he/she will NOT automatically be placed with former teammates from the Minor League and will be spread out across the Major League teams in the fall.
- Siblings will always receive priority to be paired with each other on teams whenever possible/eligible and when playing within the same division
- All registered Minor League players who were eligible to try out for the Major League division in the spring season (2024) as a baseball 9-year-old (or older) and are aspiring to play in the Majors during the next spring season are welcome and encouraged to participate in the Major League fall program; in this case, players are still required to attend a "tryout" session for the spring season (2025) and NOT automatically moved into the Major League program after the fall season
