COACH PITCH 

BASEBALL LEAGUE AGE:  7 YEARS OLD 

DOB: 9/1/17 - 8/31/18

NO TRYOUT REQUIRED / REGISTRATION ONLY

*This is an instructional program, with no prior experience required, designed for new players and those who are transitioning from tee-ball interested in learning the game, and ready to hit from live pitching (Coaches pitch to players, non-hard ball)

MINOR JUNIORS 

BASEBALL LEAGUE AGE: 8 - 9

DOB: 9/1/15 - 8/31/17

NO TRYOUT REQUIRED / REGISTRATION ONLY 

*This is a transitional program intended to further develop players with the fundamentals of baseball and prepare them for "player pitch" divisions. Players will learn to pitch/hit in a safe environment (non-hard ball).

MINOR LEAGUE 

BASEBALL LEAGUE AGES: 8 - 12

DOB: 9/1/12 - 8/31/17

TRYOUT REQUIRED FOR NEW & RETURNING/"RISING" PLAYERS NOT ALREADY PLACED ON A MINOR LEAGUE TEAM 

(AGES 10+ MUST TRYOUT FOR MAJORS)

*This program focuses on “player pitch” using hard baseballs and prepares players for advanced play in the Major League. Limited roster spots are available. Players (aged 8 - 9) who are not drafted to a team will be placed in the Minor Juniors. 

MAJOR LEAGUE 

BASEBALL LEAGUE AGES: 9 - 12

DOB: 9/1/12 - 8/31-16

TRYOUT REQUIRED FOR NEW & "RISING" PLAYERS NOT ALREADY PLACED ON A MAJOR LEAGUE TEAM 

(AGES 10+ MUST TRYOUT FOR MAJORS)

*This advanced program is designed for players who are ready to face the highest level of competitive play in our league and faster pitching. Limited roster spots are available. Players who are not drafted to a team will be placed in the Minor League.  

JUNIOR & SENIOR DIVISIONS 

JUNIOR LEAGUE (BASEBALL LEAGUE AGES: 13-14): DOB: 9/1/10 - 8/31/12

SENIOR LEAGUE (BASEBALL LEAGUE AGES: 15-16): DOB: 9/1/08 - 8/31/10

INFORMATION WILL BE SHARED AFTER REGISTRATION - TBD

*The Junior League (Jr) is a transitional program following the Major League that prepares players to advance to the high school level

*The Senior League (Sr) contains high school-aged players and more competitive league play; often requires travel

*All games in Jr/Sr divisions will be played on the 60/90 field 

*Programs will be organized/finalized according to enrollment data/numbers - TBD

*Program(s) may require travel - TBD

*All participants must register following the same registration procedure as our other HLL baseball programs 

HOBOKEN’S YOUTH INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS 

(AGES 3 - 6)

*Participants ages of 3 – 6 years old are NOT eligible to participate in the HLL baseball program (NO EXCEPTIONS)

*The Hoboken Recreation Department (HRD) offers youth instruction for participants within this age range; it is NOT a HLL sanctioned program

*Programs include youth instructional classes (ages 3 - 5) and tee-ball (aged 6); participants are grouped based on their age 

*Participants interested in joining the City's youth instructional program should register with the City of Hoboken on RECDESK and should NOT register for the HLL Baseball Charter on Blue Sombrero
