HOBOKEN LITTLE LEAGUE

TEAM FORMATION/PLACEMENT 

 TEAM PLACEMENT:

*The team formation process is a “TOP-DOWN” approach that unfolds one division at a time

(Majors (Tryout/Draft required) Minors (Tryout/Draft Required) Minor Juniors (No Tryout or Draft Required) Coach Pitch (No Tryout or Draft Required) 

*Junior/Senior Divisions (13-16 year olds) are assigned to teams based on position/skill/experience*

COACH PITCH & “MINOR JUNIORS” TEAM FORMATION:

*Participants DO NOT attend a tryout session and are NOT part of the draft; they will be automatically placed onto teams in their corresponding division AFTER team placement in the older divisions has been finalized

*Rosters/additional information for these divisions will be shared/published in LATE MARCH/EARLY APRIL (TBD) AFTER the draft/team formation process concludes

MINOR LEAGUE & MAJOR LEAGUE DIVISIONS TEAM FORMATION PROCESS: 

*Registered participants who attend a tryout session will be considered for team placement in the Minor and Major League during the draft; NO EXCEPTIONS

*Limited openings available in the Major and Minor Leagues; attending a tryout session does NOT guarantee placement and some players may not be drafted onto a team

*Notification of team placement for all divisions will take place AFTER the Major/Minor draft process in late March

*A coach/administrator will notify families regarding team placement & participants will be rostered onto TeamSnap AFTER the draft and/or team formation process concludes

 *All participants that are not DRAFTED to a team in the Minor or Major League will be notified AFTER the draft and placed on their former team from spring 2024, OR if NEW to the HLL, will be placed within the appropriate division

*Please allow plenty of time for the entire process to take place before reaching out to the league about placement. If your child has NOT been rostered to a team and you have NOT heard from an administrator/manager/coach by early to mid-April, please contact the league for additional information (hobokenlittleleaguebaseball@gmail.com)

Major League: Mid-March - TBD

Minor League: Mid-March - TBD
