Congratulations to multi-sport superstar Kyle Sperring on his commitment to SUNY Plattsburgh to play baseball.
Kyle was huge part of Anthony Costello's powerhouse Rockland Elite team that won 40 Championships. His unique combination of speed and power led him to be a 3-year Varsity starter in both football and baseball for the Clarkstown South Vikings.
We may say it a lot, but it applies here as well, a great kid from a great family. Parents John and Jeannie are super proud today and they should be. Great job Kyle and good luck in the next phase of your baseball and academic career!

Johnny has been an integral part of the Rockland Elite Knights team that won 17 Tournament Championships from 12U through 17U. College coaches were impressed with Johnny’s ability to play multiple positions on the field, his speed, and his defensive skill. The Fighting Tigers are getting one of Rockland Elite’s best!

10U Gold Win the GHVBL Fall League Championship!

“10U Gold Wins GHVBL Fall Championship
Congratulations to 10u Gold for winning the GHVBL Fall League Championship in their very first season together. After securing the #2 seed entering the playoffs, the team defeated the #1 seed Eastchester Eagles 5-4 in Sunday’s Championship Game.
This was a total team win, with contributions from everyone up and down the lineup. The boys scored an incredible 49 runs throughout their playoff run, with their pitching only giving up 11 earned runs in return.
The boys put in a lot of hard work this fall and it’s great to see that effort pay off with their first championship! “

If you know the kid, you know how hard he works and the fierce competitor he is. 40 Championships with Rockland Elite, helping his Dad become one of the winningest Managers to coach in the area.

13U Red Are USABL Fall League Champions!

Congratulations to 13u Red who finished their first Fall season on the big field tonight taking home the fall league championship. The team had an impressive 14-1 fall record outscoring opponents 134-54 and had back to back championship wins last week winning the ECTB tournament in Pennsylvania and coming home this weekend to win their league championship.

13U Red Wins the ECTB Spooktacular Tournament!
Coach Mike Catina's 13u Red moved its fall season record to 12-1 after going undefeated this weekend in Pennsylvania taking home the Championship at the ECTB tournament outscoring opponents 41-15.
The team had a great time off the field as well hitting Dorney Park’s Halloween Haunt on Saturday night.
Up next is Championship weekend for their fall league where the team hopes to take home the fall league championship as the 1 seed.

15U Navy Wins War at the Shore Fall Classic in New London, CT

Congratulations to 15U Navy who won the War at the Shore Fall Classic in New London, CT this weekend.
Yesterday’s incredible pitching continued into today. The semifinal was a back-and-forth nail biter full of run-saving plays in the field. The game was finally won on a dropped 3rd strike in the bottom of the 8th inning. In the finals, Sam Goldstein and Gavin Payne threw a combined 1-hit shutout to bring home the Title.

15U Black Wins the USABL Fall Rumble Tournament Championship

Congratulations to Coach Brenden Colon’s 15U Black who won the USABL Fall Rumble Tournament Championship this weekend. The team’s bats were on fire as they outscored their opponents 48-12.
Just as impressive was the pitching and fielding. In the semifinals Gavin Bring The Payne was dominant giving up 1 earned run to a very strong lineup, leading the team to a 10-5 victory. In the finals, Trevor Harrington and Sam Goldstein combined to throw a 1-hit shutout.
This is Coach Brenden Colon’s third Tournament championship in a row!

12U Red Wins the USABL Freedom Clash Tournament!

Super Mario is Back!
Congratulations to Coach Brenden Colon’s 12U Red who won the USABL Freedom Clash Tournament. The team was dominant in all phases, outscoring their opponents 38-3.
Today, the pitching and fielding was dominant as Liam Z. and Tyler P. combined to throw a 2 hit shutout in the Semi’s. In the Championship game, Kal-El A. and Grant Z. combined to throw a 5-hitter, giving up only 2 runs.
Offensively, the boys combined for 40 hits over 4 games!

14U National Win the USABL Labor Day Weekend Tournament!
September 2, 2024
14U National kicked-off the Fall Season right where they left off the Summer, by winning the USABL Labor Day Classic going 4-0 outscoring their competition 45-7.
This is their 8th championship of the year and 44th Championship of all time! With a record 51-15 on the season this is the team’s 6th consecutive 50 win year.
Great pitching with Ben Reim and Logan Cox getting the wins in pool play and Mikey Monda and Mikey Montijo getting the wins in the playoffs. Connor McHale and Mikey Montijo hit back to back home runs to walk it off in the semifinals and Sage Caesar hitting a walk off double in the championship game.

11U Red Are Ripken Tournament CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to Coach Brenden Colon and his 11U Red team who won the Ripken Goin’ Yard Tournament Championship!
Shoutouts to the entire team: Liam Z., Jojo Z., Niko S., Justin F., Grant Z., Michael I., Julio R., Tyler P., Jake G., Kal-el A. and Skyler C.
The weekend was filled with great plays in the field and terrific pitching performances. Both the quarterfinal and semifinal games went down to the wire, with the team eeking out 4-3 and 5-4 victories.
In the Championship Game, the boys brought the bats, racking up 18 hits for a 14-2 mercy win. Unbelievable!

One of the best kids you could want as a teammate, and one of best baseball players in the county has committed. Charlie Moustakakis is headed to Westfield State University. He will play with his travel teammates Connor Benvenuto and Paulie Peterson.
Charlie epitomizes all the best qualities a kid could have - baseball talent, toughness, leadership, loyalty, and respect for his coaches and the team.

14U Gold Wins the Rock!

Congratulations to Coach Paul Peterson’s 14U Gold, who swept through the competition to win The Rock’s Wood Bat Championship!
The team went undefeated throughout the weekend, giving up only 3 runs the entire tournament.
In the Championship game, Mason Chiappa and Jesse Rizzo combined to throw a 4-hitter, striking out 12 batters. The offense was powered by Finn Gandolfini, Peyton Malm, Luke Peterson, Aidan Rodriguez, Cole Engel and Johnny Dolan who all had big hits.
The team was snake-bit this summer with a couple of rained out tournaments, but what a way to end the season, with a Championship!

13U Black Wins the NY Elite Around the Horn Tournament Championship!

The great weekend of baseball continues!
Congratulations to Coach Rafael Cabral’s 13U Black team who won the NY Elite Around the Horn tournament. The bats were on fire this weekend as the team collected 40 hits, scoring 33 runs scored.
In the Championship game, Matt Cohen, Aaron Berly, and David Gonzalez combined on the mound to give up 9 hits, with 2k’s.

End of Era as the 17U Knights wrap up their 2024 Season

End of an era.
In 2019, Rockland Elite Knights was formed under Coach Joe Benvenuto. Over 5 seasons he built up the program, instilling in his players a focus on mental toughness and high baseball IQ - skills that would help take the team to the championship level. Last year Coach Joe had to step down from the team, but the team continued with the groundwork he had laid.
Rockland Elite Knights 17U wrapped up their Summer season this past weekend in style. The team played some great baseball this weekend, received a lot of looks from the college scouts, received multiple write-ups on Firecracker media, and had tons of fun off the field, including a couple of visits to Top Golf.
The season was a big success as the team finished in the top 10 at every tournament and brought home their 17th overall championship since being formed in 2019. The season was an important one as our 2025 and 2026 Grads looked to get college looks and no doubt they did. From the first tournament at Villanova, to the Rock in Chester NY, then Prep Baseball Report in Long Island and Boston, to winning the Championship at NY Elite in Newburgh, to ending at the Firecracker at Valley Forge. All players received maximum exposure, played great baseball, and as always, had tons of fun.
We would like to thank all the coaches who helped pull this season off: Victor Santos, Rafael Cabral, AJ Knapp, Seb Cabral, Gialdri Gomez, Jimmy McGovern and Chris Nolan. And a BIG thank you to Paul Peterson who jumped in at the last two tournaments and assisted with everything from coaching third to calling pitches and increasing all of the boys' baseball IQ.
To the team Moms - Sam Peterson and Carolyn Carello, all your hard work behind the scenes and at the tournament is much appreciated.
To the new players that joined this year - Juandel Mejia, Herick Vital, and Alex Almonte - you all did great and we were glad to add you to the Rockland Elite family.
To the prior players that could not play this season, you were missed but your legacy of playing hardnosed, great baseball will live on.
To Charlie Moustakakis, Paulie Peterson, Nick Cabral, Johnny Belz, Danny Keefe, Luis Gomez, Nicky Panzarella, Connor Nolan, Colin McGovern, and Jack Carello - in your years playing with Rockland Elite you've set the bar high. The younger teams will look to your example of how to play the game with passion and integrity, how to forge a path to playing at the college level, and most of all, how travel baseball helps form friendships that can last a lifetime.

11U Navy Wins the GHVBL Summer League

Shayna B Drives In 4 To Lead Blue RE 11U Past Westchester Elite 11U

Shayna B drove in four runs on two hits to lead Blue RE 11U past Westchester Elite 11U 11-1 on Saturday. Shayna doubled in the fifth inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring one.
Blue RE 11U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Shayna grounded out, and Westchester Elite 11U committed an error, each scoring one run.
Blue RE 11U added one run in the second. Blue RE 11U scored on a wild pitch, making the score 3-0.
A single by Shayna extended the Blue RE 11U lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
Blue RE 11U scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Shayna doubled, scoring two runs, Glavine Q grounded out, scoring one run, Thomas N drew a walk, scoring one run, and Alex I singled, scoring one run.
Ryan F started the game for Blue RE 11U. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking two. Joey M started on the bump for Westchester Elite 11U. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and two runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking two. Alex appeared in relief for Blue RE 11U.
Alex, Shayna, and Julian C each collected two hits for Blue RE 11U. Julian, Brandon W, Thomas, and Ryan each stole multiple bases for Blue RE 11U. Blue RE 11U stole 12 bases in the game.
Ian S led Westchester Elite 11U with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position. Ian and Chris M each stole multiple bases for Westchester Elite 11U. Westchester Elite 11U stole eight bases in the game.

13U Nationals Win the USABL World Series!

An organizaitonal FIRST!
Rockland Elite 13U National are USABL World Series champions!
After a dominating performance in pool play the team ran into a juggernaut in the quarterfinals with a record of 57-11 and found a way to come back from a 5 run deficit to win 8-7. Then more heroics in the semifinals to come back and walk it off to win 11-10. In the championship they cleaned house with a 12-2 win to add the coveted USABL World Series 13U championship to their trophy case as their 7th championship of the year and 43rd championship all time amassing an incredible 420 wins in the process.
They won with pitching, defense, and a combination of small ball and clutch hits going 5-0 and outscoring teams 56-23. Mikey Monda was GOAT MVP of the tournament. Everyone did their job - very unselfish baseball. Running out of adjectives to describe these boys so let’s sum it up with “TEAM”.
Congratulations to these boys for being one of the most respected and best teams in Northeast / MidAtlantic for the last 7 years. Simply unbelievable.

“What an amazing week down at the Perfect Game 13U National World Series in Florida. This group of boys, many who have been playing together since they were 7 year old, came down with their own team and competed against scout teams built from top programs top players from all over the country assembled to win. The boys started with the #4 ranked team in the country and gave them all they could handle, battled in two more games that could’ve gone either way, then finished with back to back wins. This is a true team with unmatched team chemistry - they all pull for each other and pick each other up. It has been a pleasure coaching with coaches Mike Montijo, Ron Myers, Ryan Burdette and my son Trevor Reim this year. Couldn’t be more proud of Ben and this outstanding group of boys who turned some heads this on the national stage.”

17U Knights Win the NY Elite Red, White, & Blue Tournament Championship!

Congratulations to Coach AJ Knapp's 17U Knights, who won the NY Elite 18U Championship today in Newburgh NY!
The team saw stellar pitching by Paulie Peterson and Charlie Moustakakis and strong fielding - including some MLB level plays - by SS Alex Abbamonte, 3B Nick Cabral and outfielders Josh Moreno and Johnny Belz. Timely hitting and smart base running all around helped seal the 6-3 and 5-0 wins.
Special shoutout to Juandel Mejia who was a wall behind the dish, catching 2 flawless games in the 96 degree heat.

14U Gold goes 2-0 at NY Elite Tournament, giving up only 1 run!
Congratulations to Paul Peterson's 14U Gold, who played unbelievable baseball today at the NY Elite Tournament inf Newburgh NY. The team's pitching and fielding were spectacular, but it was the hitting that all will remember. Over two games, the team accumulated 23 hits, of which 6 were doubles and triples, and outscored their opponents 23-1 versus some very tough competition.

Congratulations to Coach Kevin Reim’s 13U National as they continue to re-write the history books. The team outscored their opponents 37-15 this weekend to win the USABL Jersey Battle, their 42nd Championship of all time!
Shoutout to Logan Cox who threw a 2 hitter in the Championship game and delivered at the plate as well, going 3-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI’s.

Also a shout out to the semifinal pitchers- twin brothers Jojo and Liam Z - who combined for a 3-hitter yesterday, striking out 12.

13U National Win the Cal Ripken Tournament Championship!
June 9, 2024
Congratulations to 13U National who went down to Cal Ripken Tournament in Aberdeen, Maryland this past weekend and won the Championship. Their third Ripken Championship of all-time.
The team played terrific baseball winning 5 straight games, outscoring their opponents 59 to 18, and accumulating 56 hits!
There were dramatics in the championship game as the teams battled back and forth. In the bottom of the 7th with the game tied 6-6 and bases loaded, Jake Myers delivered the line drive single to CF for the walk-off championship win!
Not only did the team win their 400th game this weekend, they now have 41 Championships!
Shoutouts to the entire team: Mikey Montijo, Mikey Monda, Connor McHale, Logan Cox, Kyle Lascano, Ray Burdette, Gavin Marrone, Spencer Izenman, Shane Donohue, Jake Myers, and Ben Reim.

13U National Wins #400!

400 Wins!
Coach Kevin Reim’s 13U National team won their 400th game today. Let that one sink in for a minute.
In the travel baseball world, between spring, summer and fall, many teams play 40-50 games. In a “great” year, they might win 35 of those matchups. At that pace, 400 wins takes over a decade.
Reim’s team has hit the mark in just their 7th season.
Somewhere, there may be a team with more Championships. There may be another 13U team that has 400 wins. But we can assure you, you would be hard pressed to find a team that has played better TEAM baseball for this long, at this level, with this consistency.
To Coach Kevin, the assistant coaches, all the families, and of course, all the players, take a bow. You deserve it.

Congratulations to 14U Reda on winning the USABL Memorial Day Tournament! The team played excellent baseball in all facets of the game, going undefeated and outscoring their opponents 31-11.
Shoutouts to the amazing pitchers. Yesterday, James Goldsmith threw a 1-hitter to kick off Game 1. Antonio Leto pitched superb in Game 2 to lead the team to the 2 seed in the playoffs. Today, Joe Flanagan dominated the semifinal with a NO-HITTER and AJ Maraia brought home the Championship with a complete game 2-hitter in the Final.

Colin McGovern Commits!

Superstar and multi-sport phenom, Colin McGovern, has committed to Alfred University to play football.
Colin has been with Rockland Elite since 2016 and has led his teams to 16 Championships throughout those years, batting leadoff and playing CF. Colin is one of those rare athletes that can hit for power, steal bases, and gun people out from the outfield. One of the best 5-tool players to come through Rockland Elite.
Besides being a great baseball player, Colin was a long-time soccer player who made the switch to football in high school. On varsity football, Colin started on offense, defense and special teams, never coming off the field. His versatility and athleticism have won him the place-kicker job at Alfred - and once they see him in action, Alfred's baseball Coach and linebacker's coach may want him playing with them as well!
Parents Heather and Coach Jimmy could not be prouder of this achievement.

17U Knight’s Jack Carello has committed to Florida State University. Despite having several offers to play college baseball, Jack will focus on the academics while playing Club baseball. Jack has had an incredible run with Rockland Elite. He started his baseball career under Coach Anthony Costello and his powerhouse teams, from 7u through 11u. Jack would then play under Coach Joe Benvenuto Jr and his powerful Knights team. Combined, Jack has won a Rockland Elite record, 45 Championships. No former or current player has achieved this ( so far, though players from 13U Nationals are closing in fast). Jack’s 17U Knights will look to add to the Championship totals this coming Summer.
His parents could not be more proud!

13U Navy Makes it All the Way to the Championship Game

Congratulations to 13U Navy who played tremendous baseball this weekend in their first tournament of the year, making it all the way to the Championship game at the USABL Spring Fling Tournament.
Leading up to the Championship game, the team had outscored their opponents 37-8, while their pitchers only alllowed 9 hits over three games. What a great start to the season!

12U Red Makes it to Championship Game at USABL St. Patty's Day Tournament!

Congratulations to 12u Red who made it all the way to the championship game of the USABL St. Patrick’s Day Tournament and lost by 1 run in extra innings.
The team’s bats were on fire all weekend as they scored 54 runs and only let up 19 in 5 games. They also had 13 HR’s on the weekend. The team is off to a great start and is already looking forward to their next tournament and league play in a few weeks.

Commitment Alert:
It is a great honor to announce Connor Benvenuto’s commitment to Westfield State University to play College Baseball.
This is extra special as Connor will become the FIRST Rockland Elite player to commit to a college to not only play a position(2B/SS), but also to pitch.
Connor has been with Rockland Elite since he was 8 years old. His dad, the Great Coach Joe Benvenuto, Coached Connor’s Bulls, then Knights teams for 8 years. Together, the Father/Son combo won countless Travel Championships. At 12U, Connor’s Knights team went 6-0 at Cooperstown finishing 6th out of 104 teams in pool play. That same year Connor’s little league 12U all-star team, also Coached by his Dad, was the first New City Little League team to ever go to States, only to lose to the powerhouse Mid-Island team out of Staten Island - who finished 3rd at Williamsport.
Throughout all the winning and success, Connor has never let it go to his head and is always one of the hardest workers on his teams.
Connor is now at Albertus Magnus and is coming off one of the best Junior years a player could have. As a Junior, Connor was All-County and helped his team get to the Final Four at States. Connor and team are ready to do even better in 2024!
So to Connor, proud parents Jackie and Joe, and the rest of the Benvenuto family,

Congratulations to Dylan Izenman on his D1 commitment to Mount St. Mary’s University. From 8U to 17U, Dylan has always possessed the best of the best qualities on the field and off.
A great player, a great teammate, a great big brother, a great son, a great student and a great friend.
Dylan has always been a huge part of his teams success throughout the years, winning many championships under Coaches Luis Cerda, Ken McCarthy, Joe Benvenuto and Migz Ramos, who are all very proud today.
Despite all the talent and all the success, Dylan always remains humble and puts the team first.
A great accomplishment and this is only the beginning for Dylan.

11U RED WINS THE METRO FALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Congratulations to Coach Brenden Colon’s 11U Red who won the Metro Fall League Championship Today.
It was a great TEAM win!
On the mound, the team was lead by Grant Z., who pitched a complete game, giving up just 3 hits and 1 run. Excellent team defense throughout, including a spectacular double play by Skyler C.
Offensively, the team racked up 5 runs over 8 hits. Shoutout to Liam Z. who batted leadoff and went 3-3 and scored two runs.

14U Navy are ECTB Halloween Spooktacular Tournament Champions!

Congratulations to Rockland Elite 14U Navy who won the ECTB Halloween Spooktacular Tournament Championship today. It was a complete team effort of big hits, big plays in the field, and dominance on the mound.
Shoutouts to pitchers Frankie Frontino and Enmanuel Rodríguez.
Frankie pitched the Semifinals, giving up only 2 hits and striking out 11. And Enmanuel took the hill in the Championship game, striking out 7, and giving up only 2 runs. Also shoutout to TJ Gerondel who was unbelievable behind the plate.
Hitting wise, Jaiden Sanchez had a day today, batting .500 and delivering 3 big RBI’s with a Double and Triple.
It was a great weekend of baseball and tons of fun with the families Saturday at Dorney Park!

Sunday Night, 13U National recorded their 3rd consecutive 70 win year and hit 375 wins all time. Great team win in a 10-0 combined no hitter for Logan Cox and Kyle Lascano, behind great defense and another no error game (no errors in 4 of the last 5 games) with the offense sparked by Jake Myers who crushed 2 doubles tonight. Great job boys!

Congratulations to Coach Paul Peterson’s 13U Gold, who won the Wood Bat Battle Tournament at the Rock in Chester NY this weekend.
Over 4 games, the team pounded 35 hits, scoring 41 runs. The pitching was equally impressive, with three shut-outs in a row and just 5 runs allowed in total.
Shout-out to Mason DeVincenzo who threw a no-hitter in the semis and Mason Chiappa, who struck out 9 over 5 innings in the Championship game.

16U KNIGHTS WIN THE RIPKEN TRIPLE PLAY TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP!

Congratulations to Coach Migz Ramos and his 16U Knights who won the Ripken Triple Play Tournament Championship in Aberdeen, MD.
The team won 3 playoff games on Sunday including an epic 9 inning semifinal battle.
The bats and defense were great all weekend, but it was the phenomenal pitching that won the Tournament for the Knights. Shoutout to pitchers Paulie Peterson, Charlie Moustakakis, Matt Saya, Aiden Iazzetti, Connor Benvenuto, and Jason Manzella who were terrific all weekend!

The team who recently moved up in Travel Baseball Rankings to #47 in the country and #2 in the talent loaded state of New York, won their 7th championship of the year with a record of 53-12-1 and their 36th championship all time with well over 350 wins.

16U KNIGHTS TAKE ON PERFECT GAME CHAMPIONSHIP IN GEORGIA!

And just like that, the 16U National Championships have concluded in Georgia. By far the biggest tournament Perfect Game has to offer, with over 476 teams, and our Rockland Elite Knights took the tournament and Georgia by storm. The first ever 16U team to visit Georgia had multiple wins, tons of fun, and most importantly, represented Rockland County Baseball in a way that would make all proud!
Off the field, the boys experienced the best Georgia had to offer - Mini golf, Pool, Water Park, Corn Hole, BBQ!
Shoutouts to all the parents who made the long journey so the boys could experience the 16U version of Cooperstown. Also great job by the Coaches: Paul Peterson, Jason Manzella, Rafael Cabral, Migz Ramos, Joe Carello, and Joe Benvenuto for making sure the boys had a great experience.

This team played 6 games against some the best teams in the northeast and grind out 4 playoff wins in a row including beating the 1, 2 and 4 seeds. This is the teams 35th championship all time and 6th of the year. True team win. The teams 2023 record now 41-11-1. Unbelievable!

Rockland Elite Knights 16U made history this past weekend by becoming the very first Rockland Elite team to win a College showcase tournament by winning the Rowan University Collegiate Showcase Championship. In the final game, Dylan Izenman led the offense, going 4-4 with a triple and 5 RBIs. Aiden Iazzetti and Connor Benvenuto threw a combined 2-hitter on the mound. The boys came ready to impress the college coaches this weekend, scoring 31 runs across 4 games. Fantastic pitching performances by Paulie Peterson, Jason Manzella and Charlie Moustakakis helped the team advance to the title game.

10U RED WINS THE USABL SPRING LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Rockland Elite Red 10U took home the USABL Spring League championship today with a 9-6 win. The game was tied at five in the fourth when Kal-El A doubled, scoring two runs and sparking what would be a five run inning. It was a complete team effort at the plate with 13 hits in total.
Kal-El led the team to victory on the mound, with Justin F earning the save.
