2023 UPGSL Participates in UP Halloween Parade

Happy Halloween from the Upper Perk Girls Softball League !!

The Upper Perk GIrls Softball League returned to their Annual Tradition of Participating in the Upper Perkiomen Valley Halloween Parade for the first time since 2019.

Although we had to dodge some rain drops along the way and candy was scarce due to our excitement at the beginning, the girls had a great time seeing their family, friends and classmates along the parade route.

Although we didn't win a prize - the judges did remark that our girls made "the wagon bounce higher than they had ever seen before " as we were showing off our softball cheer !!!  Great Job girls ...

NOTE TO ALL OF US -- next year -- MORE CANDY ! MORE CANDY !  Look out East Greenville we're coming you're way !!!!

Upper Perk Night at the Lady Indians

Thank you to everyone who came out for our UPGSL NIGHT AT THE LADY INDIANS !!

For those who stayed - what a crazy game!

Both teams pitchers with the help of their teammates in the field, were able to hold off any runs from scoring in the first 8 innings.

Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, runners on 1st and 3rd, and UP goes for a squeeze bunt.

The bunt goes in the air - almost caught by Pottsgrove's pitcher - but it was meant to be for UP.

Game ends 1 - 0 with Upper Perk on top.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the Fall Season with the UPGSL's annual walk in the Upper Perk Parade.

Our theme this year was "PInk - "Throw Cancer a Curve" .

A special thank you goes out to the Bearn family for setting up our float, to Kutztown Auto for the use of the pick up, and to the U15 VIGS team for giving us this wonderful theme for the weekend and to the entire league for coming out to support both our fundraiser and parade.

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Thank You to everyone who supported our Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser on Sunday October 22.  Through our fundraising efforts/bake sale, a total of $500 was raised to purchase additional personal care items to be delivered to the Alliance Cancer Specialists in Sellersville.  Way to UPGSL!!

On October 22 during games at Camelot Park, the  U15 VIGS Team and the entire UPGSL league will help to raise Breast Cancer Awareness.  We will be collecting the following items to fill gift bags for patients receiving chemotherapy at Alliance Cancer Specialists located in Sellersville:

      * Personal size bottles of lotion

  • Bags of hard candy

  • Packs of gum and crackers

  •  Chapstick

We will also be having a donation only bake sale.  All baked goods will be a minimum of $1.00.  All proceeds will go towards purchasing additonal items for the gift bags.

Note cards will be available for anyone interested in writing an uplifting message to patients receiving treatment.  A caring message can go a long way in making a difference to someone who is battling cancer.

Please help us make this event successful.  Stop by our table behind Home Plate to drop off donations and buy some goodies.

Thank you to our sponsors Valley Café and G &L Student Transportation for their support!

For additional information or questions, please contact Coach Carlie (carliebearn@aol.com) or Jenn Deeble (717-870-8325).

2017 Upper Perk High School Lady Indians First Trip to State Tourney Ends in Lyons

Congratulations

to the

Upper Perk Lady Indians

on their amazing season!

The Lady Indians road to the state championship was cut short Thursday afternoon in Lyons.  Facing the Slaters of Bangor High School, the team rallied back from a 4 run deficit to tie the score in the fourth inning.  However, it wasn't meant to be.  The Slaters' bats came alive in the top of the seventh inning to bring in four more runs that the TRIBE - used to the harder / quicker pace of the PAC 10 pitchers - could not match.

Cheers to the Lady Indians --

on an incredible regular season Frontier Division Title,

to a 2nd place Finish in the Pac-10,

the history making win at Districts

and of course, their first ever trip to States.

We look forward to seeing where next season will take you!!

The Upper Perk Lady Indians are battling their way through the brackets . . . .

The Tribe earned first place honors in the newly formed Frontier Division of the PAC-10 League with an impressive 14 wins and 3 losses for the season.

In the Pac 10 Championship Game held in Spring-Ford, the TRIBE finished with an amazing 2nd place behind the Perkiomen Valley Vikings in a tough matchup..  Final score was just 2-0.

Moving into District Play, the Lady Indians faced their Frontier Division foe - the Pope John Paul Golden Panthers and won with a score of 10 - 6.

In District One Championships, the Tribe faced defending champs Villa Maria.  In a hard fought battle, the Tribe came out on top and became the District One Champions for 2017 4A Softball.

The Tribe is now embroiled in a battle for the State Championship Title.  Tournament play begin on Monday June 5th at Methacton High School's softball stadium against the East Pennsboro Black Panthers -- 3rd place finishers in their District 3 tournament.  Although the Panthers held our Tribe to just 7 hits in the game, the Tribe was able to capitalize on some plays -- a wild pitch, a long sacrifice fly, and a walk; their perseverance led them to a 3 - 0 victory and their first PIAA State Tournament win in school history.

Their next challenge will be on Thursday June 8th against the Bangor High School Slaters.  Game Time is 1:30 pm at Lyons Ballfield, 110 Park Avenue, Lyons, PA.

Another big night for the TRIBE will be the Graduation of fie (5) of its varsity starters:  Carly Bernhart, Kourtne Buck, Sarah Heidler, Emily Moll, and Olivia Young.  Congratulations on your High School Graduation!!
