| runner on second base one out. Hard ground ball hit past pitcher and hits runner who jumped up in air completely off base. Runner was called out. Was this the right call by the umpire.

| Book rule goes something like this. If ball is past all fielders who had a chance to make a play the runner would not be out if hit by batted ball. If the pitcher was the only player who a chance the runner would not be out. If a shortstop had been shading towards second and was behind the runner with a chance at a play runner out. Would have to have more info.

| Hank bases loaded with 1 out and the infield is playing in to cut the run off and a ball was hit between first and second and the ball hits the runner going to second on a fly she is out or safe? Ball was past the infielders at the time it hit the runner since they were all playing in to cut off the run at home.
