| Is it true that you must tag the base on a force out with your foot.

| Jerry, If the player has control of the ball in either the hand or the glove, it does not matter which part of their body touches the bag as long as they touch the bag and remain in control of the ball before the runner makes contact with the bag. Then the force out should be ruled. If however the ball is held by the arm or arms this should be considered a trapped ball and the force rule would not apply as the ball is not controlled. | Any portion of the fielders body may be used when tagging a base on a force out.Even if the fielder has the ball in her hand and touches the base with her empty glove....this would be an out.
