| With the bases loaded and one out, B5 hits a line drive to the right field fence. R1 and R2 score. R3 is thrown out at the plate. B5 goes to third, but misses first. Whats the call

| B-5 third out.R-1 had already scored and B-5 out was not a timing play because of ,you did not say ,but a guess it was a deadball appeal.

| sorry Joe
If properly appealed, no runs would score. B5's out for missing first was the third out.
No runs can score if the third out is a force out or if the batter does not reach first

| Thanks for the plays, Neal. The more plays we have to review, the more it keeps us thinking/learning.

| wouldn't the runs be allowed in this case since the missed base happened before the 2nd out, therefore the appeal effectively means the batter is the 2nd out and the play @ home is the 3rd out, after the 2 runs had scored? maybe i'm thinking too much on this one. if all occurred with two outs, the appeal becomes the 4th out, ending the inning and no runs count. i'd like to hear comments on this, thanks!

| Third out at first base is a force out. Therefore, no runs can score.
