It is the top of the seventh inning, and the home team leads, 5-4. The pitcher, B1, leads the inning off with a single. While running to first base, the pitcher has a slight muscle pull and the coach signals timeout. The coach has no substitutes or bench players left, so he sends out B9, the last batted out, to run for the pitcher.
