Runner on first, one out. Batter takes a called strike three, but swings late. The umpire has barely finished saying strike three, and the batter swings and strikes the catcher's glove. The ball comes loose and falls right behind home plate, where it comes to rest. Meantime the runner on first had already broken for second on a steal. You say in your mind this was unintentional. So what's your call, if any?

Batter is out and Runner going to second is out on batter interference. On the swing she is out and since she was out before the contact with the glove its interference.

bill, i'm with mike. strike 3, batter is out. she then interferes with the catcher's throw so the runner is now out

Mike & Nov, you're both correct. Once strike three was called (became official), was called on the batter, the batter became a "retired runner" when she created the interference. Therefore the runner closest to home plate is also out.
