TOPIC: Foul Ball or Catch for an out? |

| Batter swings and just taps the ball enough to make it look like a "foul tip-type" contact. Ball travels directly to the cather's glove, but the cather doesn't hold it. The ball bounces off of the catcher's glove, into the air, halfway to the pitcher's mound, where the pitcher catches the ball inflight. Is it a foul ball, or an out?

| This is a foul ball. It is found in the ASA rule book, Rule 1 Definitions on page 27. "G" under Foul Ball

| Its just a foul ball. Count would not matter. A foul tip on a third strike must be caught by the catcher
