| A pitched ball hits the batter's hands that are on the bat and outside the strike zone. The batter did not swing at the pitch. The umpire calls "foul ball". Shouldn't the batter be awarded first base?

| batter gets first base. hands are not part of the bat. if the batter swung at pitch and it hit her hands you'd have a dead ball, then a strike

| The batter should be awarded first base.
Rule 8.1.F. The hands are not part of the bat.
