Runner on second. Batter hits a ball to the gap. Runner is obstructed by the third baseman. The batter is thrown out on a bang bang play at second for the third out just before the runner crosses home plate. In the opinion of the home plate umpire the runner would have scored before the out at second if not for the actions of the third baseman. Does the run count?

absolutely. the obstructed runner is awarded the base(s) she would have reached if not for the obstruction. certainly in this case since the 3rd out was closely followed by the runner scoring logic tells us the HP umpire is correct in judging that she would have scored if not for the obstruction
