Fast pitch.Lefty slap-hitting B1 moves out of the front of the batter's box and is struck by a pitch that prevents the ball from entering the strike zone.
What is the correct ruling?

It's a strike, Hank. And the ball would be dead since it hit the batter, and runners would have to stay/retrurn to their bases.

if batter was out of the box and hit the ball it is dead ball, batter is out, runners return

IN ASA the ball is dead and B-1 is charged with a strike. ASA rule 7-4M Effect

If batter had 1 foot on the ground in fair territory, she would be called out. As long as she had the foot in the air when she moved out of the box, she would then only have a strike. It all depends where the foot is.
