| R-1 ON 2B AND R2 ON 1B, ONE OUT.B-4 HITS FLY BALL THAT THE PITCHER CAN CATCH WITH ORDINARY EFFORT AND THE UMPIRE CALLS INFIELD FLY. THE BATTED BALL DEFLECTS OFF THE HEEL OF THE PITCHERS GLOVE AND IS CAUGHT BY THE CATCHER WITH THE CATCHERS MASK. WHATS THE RULING?

| Infield fly called, so the batter-runner is out. Ball was caught illegally, so the ball would remain live and the runners would be allowed to advance at their own risk without having to tag up.

| Batter out on the infield fly. But since a batted ball was caught/touched with equitment (detached or otherwise), wouldn't that mean that after a delayed dead ball, that all runners would be awarded three (3) bases?

| I agree with Jim. Batter is out on the infield fly and detached equipment ruling 3 base award to base runners. ( All would score )

| ASA Rule 8 Section 5 F1 - When a fielder intentionally contacts or catches a fair batted,a thrown, or a pitched ball with any part of the uniform or equipment that is detached from its proper place. Effect - Delayed dead ball and the runners are entitled to three bases from the time of the pitch on a batted ball. Batter B4 is out on infield fly rule ASA Rule 8 - 2-l. If no other play involved with R1 and R2 both are awarded three bases and score two runs. We now have two outs and no runners on base.
