TOPIC: batter bunts into fair territory |

| batter drops bat on or just in front of home plate. catcher, trying to field the bunt, trips on the bat. is this interference on the batter ??
also...batter bunts and drops bat a few feet towards first base in fair territory. ball rolls into bat. is batter out ??

| To answer the first part of your question: it's not interfernece unless the batter is holding the bat and tries to trip the catcher with it. Otherwise it's simply the failure of the catcher to pick up her feet while moving forward. On the second part of your question, and more seriously of course, if the ball rolls against the bat the ball remains live. RULE 7, SECTION 6, SUBSECTION K2 AND EFFECT.
